Well lads it`s that time of the year again. The clubs have their coaches/managers in place and training at club level is just around the corner. This years championship should be interesting with nap clear FAvs to retain their crown, killmallock wanting to make up for a poor season by their standard and clubs like adare, patrickswell, doon, Murroe and maybe even effin wanting to make an impression. What are people`s thoughts on this years championship. Martin Kiely gave a brief overview in last weeks leader.

I would have Na Piarsaigh and Kilmallock as joint favourites going into the new campaign with Adare behind them. I can`t see any other team winning it outside of those three.

There is also a rumour that there will be no divisional team this year so I presume Bruff will remain senior if this is in fact true.

I suppose there won`t be any prices up until the draws and groups are made. Alot of people made a few quid betting on the group games as paddy power was offering handicap bets.

Effin will do well this year so don`t be surprised if they reach the semi final stages of this years county championship. The experience they have gained this year will stand to them.

Na piarsaigh must fancy their chances at back to back titles in Limerick. Ahane start back training in two weeks.

It has the potential to be a great championship. Kilmallock and Na Piarsaigh being neck and neck at the top. Kilmallock back training this friday must be trying to make amends for the poor run they had last year.

When are the draws on, they can`t be that far away. Would love to see killmallock patrickswell adare and nap in the one group. There would be the potential for some cracking matches.

Last years semi-finalists are seeded I believe, so NaP and the `well would be kept apart.

With last years semi finalist`s seeded what will happen if the rumour is true that there will be no divisonal side in the championship this year as emmets were in the semi final last year will they just seed 3 groups and the 4th group be just who ever is picked out?

Maybe Hospital Herbertstown, as they were the last club side Emmets beat?

Let`s hope the county board think out the fixture lists a bit better than other years. There should not be any senior matches on only on a Saturday or a Sunday. That way everyone will get a chance To them.

Harsh on Bruff who spent a lot of money upgrading their dressingroom, grounds with tarmac, electronic scoreboard etc. and have a decent covered stand if they are to be ignored for games that would attract a decent crowd this year.

If a club hosts a championship game, 15% of the gate goes to the host club. The Gaelic Grounds and Neville Park are County Board owned so therefore the commission is saved.

I can`t see how the county board can give bruff the cold shoulder with senior and don`t forget alot of intermediate fixtures. They have invested big money on the dressingrooms and general improvements.

Bruff is a fine venue but what is the story with the big net behind the goal at the far side, has it been put back up again?

I suppose it`s has two uses obviously to grab the sloithars and also to stop golf balls coming in from the pitch and putt.

Ahane will be spending the early part of the season under the fountain of youth as they will be the grumpy old men team of 2012,yet still in the top 6 in the county.Strange!

I guess quite a few people are getting fed up with trying to peer through 40 reams of barbed wire while simultaneously holding their hands up to shield their eyes from the piercing sun while trying to make out where the sliothar is !!

It isnt a great venue to watch a game, the fencing is awful to see a game through.
