I know quiet a few of ye are Limerick men so I wanted to ask does anyone know of any book or other work done on Limerick GAA and in particular its early history c.1885-1900. Researching for a paper and I want to throw in a few bits of information on the Limerick GAA at this time.

The definitive history would be "100 Years of Glory" by the late Sean Murphy and Seamus O Ceallaigh.
It was published just after the Centenary Year of 1984 though I`m not sure if it`s still in print as my own copy dates from that time.
Excellent book with a lot of information on the early days of Limerick GAA

The book you are referring to is an earlier book and deals a lot with Athletics as much as GAA.
Both the following books are available in Limerick City Library (The Granary Building )
History of Limerick GAA from Earliest Times to the Present Day Part 1 (1884 to 1908 ) by Seamus O’Ceallaigh
A History of Limerick GAA: 100 Years of Glory (1884- 1984 ) by Seamus O’Ceallaigh and Sean Murphy

I collect a fair bit memorabilia myself but i was shocked one day when a lad asked me for nearly 300 € for a copy of it which he was selling at a car boot sale, i wont say where as he probably still has it sitting on the shelf.
tap that in to ebay and a lad is sell a copy of the gaa history and he is looking for 200 €for it.

Some of that stuff is very costly to get hold of because its very rare. If match programmes can command €2000 plus at auctions in Meallys of Kilkenny, then €200 is not so bad for a book of that size if you are a collector who is used to spending more.
Dont think I would pay it myself though!!
