Guys just came across this on KK website, is this for real?
Shamrock Rovers fans with a banner reading- "Thomas Davis GAC- Fcuk off and die"
http://www.srfcultras.net/index01.html
How will Minsister O'Donoghue defend this? Or more importantly [joke] FL & 90 mins?

O'Donoghue was once chairman of his local GAA club and
fully understands the issues. If this issue was on his own
doorstep, it would have been "fixed" years ago...

That's about the level of maturity you'd expect froma group calling themselves the "ultras" - Morons.

At their home game last Friday week (think it was against Longford Town) a large section of their support changed the words to the well known Rangers and Chelsea ditty and were roaring out: 'No Surrender To The GAA'. What clowns.

Funnily enough that match was supposed to be family themed by both Rovers and Bohs, then you go and see a banner like that.

Anyone find the tone extremely offensive though? Why wasn't this reported in the media? Its not a few mindless fools either, judging by the picture everyone standing behind that banner is advocating its message which is a sad reflection of where our society is at. Trying to copy English chav culture to the enth degree.

Ah there songs will brighten the lives of the people of S Dublin, yer just a bunch of begrudgers.
We are rovers,
Super rovers,
No one likes us,
We don't care,
We hate Bohs,
Orange b*****ds,
And we'll fight them anywhere...
When i was six,
I had some sense,
I bought a flute for fifty pence,
The only tune that i had known,
Was f**k the bohs we won 4 in a row
Take me home, Milltown road,
To the place, i belong,
Tallaghfornia, stadium Rovers,
Take me home, Milltown road
Going down the Milltown Road, to see McLaughlin's Aces.
Oh, the lads, you'll never see us coming,
Fastest team in the land, you'll never see us coming.
All the lads and lassies, smiles upon their faces,
We are Rovers, Super Rovers.
No-one likes ue, we don't care.
We hate Bohs,
Orange b*****ds, and we'll fight them anywhere.
We all live in the Tallaght housing scheme,
where all the walls are green and Rovers are the team.
(Repeat)
When I was six,
I had some sence,
I bought a flute for fifty pence.
The only tune that I did know was:
Fuckk the Bohs we won Four in a Row.
Do, do ,do, do, do,
Do, do, do, do, do,
Do, do, do, do, do,
Do, do, do, do, do, do.
When I was just a little kid,
I bought a flute for twenty quid.
And every time I blew into it,
all it played was: The Bohs are Shit.
Do, do ,do, do, do,
Do, do, do, do, do,
Do, do, do, do, do,
Do, do, do, do, do, do.
Who's that lying on the carpet
Who's that lyin' on the floor
It's just Louis on his back and he's had a heart attack
And he won't be screwing Rovers anymore
Super super super super hoops
Super super super super hoops
15 leagues and 24 cups
The Bohs scum will never catch up
We never ever ever run away
Bohs brought 20 fans to Belarus
Bohs brought 20 fans to Belarus
They never travel away like us
They couldn't fill a minibus
We never ever ever run away
I see the rovers fans are rising
I see theres trouble un the way
And if your in red and black
Your gonna get a smack
I see the bohs runaway
In Inchicore slums, in your Inchicore slums
You look in a dustbin for something to eat
You find a dead rat and you think its a treat
In your Inchicore slums!
We are the SR, the SRFC
We are the SR, the SRFC
We are the SR, the SRFC
We are the SR, the SRFC
Come on Rovers, Come on Rovers
Come on Rovers, Come on Rovers
Come on Rovers, Come on Rovers
Come on Rovers, Come on Rovers

Bohs were set up by the British Army afaik. Open to correction on this but I think they were initially set up as a hobby for the occupying forces at the turn of the century.

An interesting but predictable response by yourself. This banner illustrates the moronic level of discourse that soccer skangers usually descend to, so I assume from your response that you condone it.
I'm wondering if the situation had have been reversed and Thomas Davis supporters had have produced a "Shamrock Rovers Fcuk Off and Die" banner, would your reaction have been of the just as typical GAA "taliban", "bogtrotters", etc. type that you normally regurgitate? Would you have found the same level of humour in such a scenario?
An answer please. No running away again when a mature response is required from you.

They've f**ked off and died so many times it's hardly worth making a banner.

Shamrock Rovers fans have every reason to be aggrieved by the meddling of Thomas Davis.
The pitch won't be big enough for gaelic, TD just want to block a football team setting up in Tallaght and eroding their appeal even more.
If every GAA development around the country was blocked and taken to court by the FAI, you lot wouldn't like it one bit!

Is every FAI development around the country blocked and taken to court? I thought this was an isolated case where a minister has made a right balls up.

Football Lover!!! Get your fact's right, this was supposed to be developed as a 20,000 municipal stadium orginally, which would be paid for by the tax payer in an area with a lack of amenities. Now the government want to give the ground over to the exclusive use of a private company ie the sham's. They are a professional team who sold there own ground for profit, squandered the money and are now expecting Bertie's boys to give them a new ground for nothing. The TD's and the other GAA clubs in the area are busting there ass to provide facilities for the people of the area and are right to feel agrieved
