More fool on the Waterford team if they needed that for motivation. Is jersey kissing not enough?

What ever about the Limerick leader, it has nothing on the Evening Echo which is a propaganda tool for Frank Murphy.

10/10 to the leader, do they think anyone in waterord can read? One win over Tipp and we are unbeatable. Well done on the player ratings too.

I didnt see this but was shown an article by a guy called Brian McDonnell that had the headline "Waterford hurling has no soul"
It was disgraceful...
I tell you, there isnt one Limerick contributor on this site that is as one-eyed as this joker, yet his piece of drivel is printed in a newspaper that people are expected to pay for....

So now we know why they got rid of Henry Martin: he made the rest
of the writers on the Leader look even worse than they are
already.

Well ive been going since 86, i take nothing for granted re limerick in any game. How much experience of Limerick in munster finals have these guys got to warrant such cockiness? Jaysus KK might fancy beating a few teams, but i dont reckon id see that headline

Just finished reading the article, somehow missed it over the weekend. Absolutely beyond belief, a pig-ignorant pile of utter tripe, a complete embarasment.
And there's worse - I've just noticed that he is the sports editor!

To be honest I'd have thought Justin's scientific approach wouldn't require such slights for motivation, they'd be confident enough in their own ability to win. However I was stunned to see the Leader articles, they were absolute drivel and the headlines were disrespectful to Waterford. Whether they were trying to show a confidence I don't know but it was a poor effort all round. Why provide ammunition to the opposition? The Leader is garbage on GAA, yes there's lots of coverage but the quality is appalling, the articles are like 6th class compositions. There is no quality of writing, it is not prose. If it was basic language but insightful I wouldn't mind, but it's not even that. You get the real news on here or off text messages.

There's no excuse for it whatsoever. Utter, utter sh*te. Jayses even the Kilkenny people wasn't that disrepectful to Wexford before the LF.

Or on the limerick leader from Henry martin before he was dumped for the second time. The leader is a sh ite advertising only rag. We need a limerick voice like they have in kilkenny and Tipperary.
Just read the tripe myself like everyone else I missed it at the weekend. It looks like the views of limerick people in general and the people of limerick are owed an apology. Waterford have earned respect and no true limerick supporter mentor or player thinks that little of them.
no wonder the limerick leader are in trouble for readers

IMHO its the latest in a long list of attempts by the limerick leader to destroy limerick gaa. I challenge anyone to purchase the Kilkenny people or the Kerryman and compare to the rubbish that we must put up with in Limerick.
Bottom line is that the limerick leader are in serious trouble. Advertisers are openly admitting to pulling out and people are not buying the rag anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lads its only a local paper, the Munster Express and News and Star (W'ford Local papers) have their fair share of sh1t in them also and also I think the use of the word 'disrespectful' is a bit OTT, seeing that the Limerick Leader and the other local Limerick papers are more or less unattainable in W'ford very few would be aware of what was written in them were it not for this web site......and even if it they were available how many local waterford people would actually buy the local limerick papers?

I never buy the Leader any more. i skim through it every week though and when I saw the coverage last Thursday I was embarrassed. I was going to start a topic on it here but I considered that the fewer people who were aware of it before the match the better. I knew that it would be mentioned after the game though.
Its not just the poorness of the quality of the coverage in general but games have to be on about 5 days before the paper goes to print before the results will be printed. In this day and age its hardly an up to date service.

I missed the game, but was listening to it on the radio, and straight after they had Shanahan interviewed and he kept going on about how they answered questions today, and how Limerick showed them no respect and that Waterford showed they were the ones with spirit. I couldnt understand where he was coming from with all that, as Waterford were clear favorites and expected to win, and I would have thought Limerick had lots of respect seeing as Waterford had won 2 (I think?) Munster championships in the same period that Limerick hadnt even won a Munster game.
Makes sense now though having heard they had the paper stuck up on the wall. Shanahan still sounded fired up after the game and like he'd run thru a wall he was that bulling about it.
