I know I'm meant to be 'minding the shop' but I'm off down to tesco now to get the new HALO3.
Tesco are doing a deal of 49.99 so stay away from your gamestop or smyths etc if they are looking for 69.99.

Is Fifa 08 out today or Friday?
Apparently the League of Ireland players are on it this year.
Could never get into RPG games at all. My xbox is flooded with sports games.
Though I remember getting the GAA football game a couple of years ago for the PS. Pure f**kin muck.

Played the beta version and it was good, and was thinking of getting it. But got the Call of Duty 4 beta demo 2 weeks ago and its unreal. Far better IMO. Halo's one player game probably is better, but the COD4 online games are great, far better than the halo one (all comparisions on the demos, but they are both supposed to be close to the final product.) COD4 out in November.
Pro Evo 7 is out soon too, looking forward to that. Used to be into FIFA, but changed over and for the better. Played the FIFA demo, not a patch on PES in my opinion.

Ah ya. I always get the Pro Evo too. 50 times better by a mile.

tried to get on the beta for COD4 but didn't get the token, was gutted !
as for pro evo I owe you beating on that one !
am getting my halo tonight and look forward to killing loads of yanks on live

the yanks are ruining the COD4 online, loads of kids on it trying to use glitches and stuff, same for the Halo beta. Try to stay in lobbies with more Uk/Irish or European players. i got the COD4 code on a website that was giving them to Americans, logged in using an american postal address and got the code. Its class. There are still some floating about on websites and even ebay.
and you've no chance in Pro evo! ;)

I must keep an eye out for you online in that case.
I just got the game there at Tesco. 49.99
Some new weapons and mines and things to drive.
Tesco are only doing a promotion thing so they only had 1 box when I was there. Crafty buggers, I expect they thought I was going to do all my shopping there while I was at it, but they were wrong.

Yeah, I don't think McGyver ever fired a gun. He'd do something like turn a piece of pipe into a cannon to fire heads of cabbage at the bad guys.

was online last night and saw nearly everyone on the friend list was playing halo. Still not sure whether to get it. Think I may hold out for a while. Downloaded the new Pro Evo demo on marketplace last nght, as well as the FIFA one just to give it a chance. Still a massive gap IMO. PES looks good anyway, very similar gameplay to the last one, so hoping the additional features missing from the last one will be in this one.

I only got about an hour of it last night as Mrs GSH was getting frisky and I'm only human.
I loved pulling the machine gun off the turret and going to down on the brutes.
If only I could bring that to semple stadium and lay anyone with a Bodhran or whistle to the floor.

I'm getting an Xbox 360 soon for one game, and it ain't Halo 3. Mass Effect is out in November, made by the same folk that brought us the peerless Knights of the Old Republic [genuflects]. As for Halo 3, I'll wait until it's cheap as chips

i took an hour break from the killzone in order to download the PES demo, I think we're back to the bad old days of looking at the opponent and them getting a free.
as for halo I now have the master chief in multiplayer decked proudly decked out in purple and gold. It's magnificent !!!
slightly hamstrung in that my joypad suffered a nasty shoulder injury in a moment of online pro evo rage and therefore I could only reload sporadically
the new features like the flare and the bubble shield are great as are the bonuses for sticking a plasma grenade to someone and legging it !!
will try the campaign over the weekend

They said they were going to get rid of that $hite. The most frustrating thing about PES is the tackle. I always notice if you tackle a player a yard or 2 from their goal line it's an automatic free. Still at least it's better that winning 7-0 like you consistently would with FIFA.
Never played Halo I have to say. Is it not like an enhanced version of Metal Gear solid or something? I got Gears of War free with my Xbox and gave up after about 10 minutes. I find shoot em up RPG games boring. Am I missing something with Halo?

in short yes
halo is the daddy of FPS
the game as a stand alone is excellent with a great story arc and marvellous set pics
but it really comes alive on the online version with the slayer ames, it's highly addictive
go out and buy the special edition with all 3 games I think it's €90 but you get many extras and then maybe you'll see what you're missing out on
btw I wasn't a great gears fan, the slow movement of the characters p1ssed me off no end
also

I am not sure that members our police force should be allowed play these violent games - I mean what is to stop you bringing your aggression into the real world and going postal on Irish citizens (same goes to An Post workers). Ye have the guns so all you need is the motivation and I am sure that HALO3 could provide you with just that......

You have to fill out 452 forms to get a red pen, and 220 forms to get a blue or a black pen. No-one here has green pens.
Using this example as the barometer of difficulty involved in attaining real life items, you can imagine what it's like to get anything which can cause GBH.
As McGyver would say "I only need 2 things, a gun with no bullets, and secondly, a box of bullets".

didnt hold out for too long after, couldnt resist the tempatation especially once the COD4 beta stopped! Have my halo3 going now, just have to get out online and get the sh!te kicked out of me.
