Personally, I`m thrilled he was beaten. One of the most hypocritical and two-faced politicians ever to wear shoe-leather!

spade caller you should run for the dail yourself. Could I add my thruppenny bit?
Harney-thatcher would have been to far to the left for her
Fiona O`Malley-arrogant beyond belief
Whatshisface that now leads the pds-the only leader of a democratic party not elected by the people.
While I`m at it anyone who voted for the pds deserves a trolley.
Dan Neville-like Richard Bruton, in the wrong party also a good human being.
Finian Mcgrath-said before the last election that he would fully retire as a teacher, if he did well done, if not see below.
Politicians who continue to hold teachers jobs open and draw money for same-dishonest sleeveens.
Mary O`Rourke-great sense of humour and wit.
Brian Hayes, Varadker, Creighton-three huge reasons to vote NO.
Jan O`Sullivan-socialist my asre.
Hillary Clinton-the only economics she is good with is the truth.
David Norris-another good man and the country is a far better place for his prescence.
Allison O`Connor-I know she is not a politician but I reckon she would make a great one.

fully agree about varadkar/creighton/hayes. they`re the reason Fg will remain in essence a niche party, never big enough to do anything other than multi party coalition. pompous, attention seeking and self satisfied. varadkar is in my constituency and i wet myself when he tried to set himself up as the "next Joe Higgins" after his bout of bertie bothering a few days after the elction. george hook fairly put him right. Joe is a shoe in for the next dáil if he runs, people out here indublin west got complacent and assumed he`d be a cert,. apart from teh fact the constituency was basically gerrymandered and should have been a four seater anyway. i don`t agree with the majority of his policies but i love the fact i know he ahs the people`s interests at heart. it`s also a plus that he is an extremly educated man who doesn`t feel the need to spend my money on cr*p. which is in direct contrast to most dáil members on both counts.
fiona O`Malley should have a new adjective named after her either arrignorant, ignarrogant or maybe malleyignant.

Yes, the main reason FF won the last election was that there was no credible alternative. Agree about Joe Higgins for the same reasons as well as razor-sharp witticisms and for the same reason I admire Dan Neville. He is in my constituency, but will not be next time, and does a lot of good work for all who live here. Why did Bertie give FOMalley a seat in the upper house? with a bit of luck the Pukeinducing Ditherers will implode and they will be consigned to the same rubbish bin of history as other notable s such as mcdowells 2007 election campaign.
Varadker as the new Joe Higgins? Must admit I never heard that one, I would have choked on my bacon and cabbage. God forbid that we would ever see the likes of that as a senior minister in this country.

May I recall to your memory the likes of Paddy Cooney, Conor Cruise-O`Brien et al from the 1973 - 77 collition who panicked the electorate at the time into giving Fiann Fáil its greatest ever election victory.
Varadker is merely an empty barrell making noise.
