There`s talks that Alan Gaffney might be coming back. Dont think it would be such a bad thing. He was well lioked by the players.

think you mean michael bradley....as bradley is after getting the summer tests and has been involved with the A team for the last few years that would indicate that the irfu hold him in high regard...dont think galway will get it as he lacks experience and isnt exactly hands on with shannon but could be used as a team manager possibly (although i would presume payne will hold onto this job ) ...

as i said on an earlier thread an outside man with big game/team experience is what we need...with bradlay coming in as his number 2 and taking over after 2/3 years with possibly niall o donovan jason holland etc also involved in the back room

possible candidates:
bradley
jake white
eddie o sullivan
alan gaffney
john mitchell
pat howard

although if it is a foreign coach that would leave the three big provences with foreign coachs....

Supposedly he`s just going in, in an advisory role

bradley would obviously be well get got by some in the irfu hierarchy, anybody with any knowledge of its make up would know what i mean there. its doubtful if he will get the munster job though.niall o donovan would be a good outside bet although he remains as the only person from the o sullivan era still involved with the team.he may want to step back from his role as he has been forwards coach for 7 years and prior to that was involved in a coaching capacity with munster.he may see the munster job as a natural step upwards in his career.
Galwey lack of coaching experience means unlikely.
o sullivan a distinct possibility but may feel its too soon and may have a bit of baggage that might not fit.As for outsiders who knows.

I am not enthused by any of the Irish candidates for the job. They are either inexperienced or inadequatley experienced  ( Mick Galwey, Brian Walsh )  , come with too much baggage perhaps  ( O`Donovan, O`Sullivan )  or are clearly not up to the job  ( Bradley )

The Munster job is still one of the most glamorous in the club/province game in Europe. Marcelo Loffreda is going to lose his job at Leicester, and he could be an option, he will probably not get an offer as good as Munster elsewhere. Jake White wasn`t interested in the Irish job, but this may tempt him. He has the prospect of actually winning something here, but he may be offered gazillions of yen to go to Japan. John Mitchell is on to a good thing at the moment, and will not move, and I doubt that Pat Howard would be interested. I think it will probably be someone from leftfield and not Irish. How many people had heard of f Moykall Cheeka before he came here? Expect some one relativeley unknown, I would say.
