From a Meath point of view we had Stephen Bray burst on the scene in fairly spectacular fashion. I reckon that this summer, provided that Meath get a good run, we should look out for Brian Sheridan and Alan Nestor as the latest Meath stars- Sheridan in the Liam Hayes mould and Nestor has a touch of the Giles about him.
Of other counties, I reckon the lad White who plays centre half back for Kildare will be a serious footballer in the years ahead.
I dont really follow hurling but obviously Joe Canning is one to look out for. Do Waterford have anyone coming through to push on the likes of Mullane and Shanahan?

Joe Canning is 3rd favourite behind Tommy Walsh and Henry Shefflin to win hurler of the year. He`s almost expected to have a great season which is tough on anyone never mind a 19 year old in his debut season.

John Lee is a fantastic prospect alright. Obviously Canning too.
From Cork Daniel Goulding in football, and paudie sull (brother of `the rock` ) in the hurling

Probably won`t even be on Cork panel this year (of course if he lived 35 miles west he`d be on the other panel ) , but keep an ear out for Rory Buckley from Macroom in future. Full back on last years minors, has what it takes to really make it, brilliant defender and footballer. Better now than what Anthony Lynch was at same age.
Football - I expect Killian Young to become a Seamus Moynihan type legend if he stays injury free.
Hurling - Canning is an obvious one, but he`ll need to improve his conditioning over the next two years, if he does (i expect he will ) , god help us all.
Paudie Sull is good, but i think we`re expecting a little too much from him already. Remember he`s naturally a half back, not easy to turn into an inter-county standard corner forward in 2-3 years, not to mind be a star.

I think Aidan O`Mahony will be compared to Seamus Moynihan after this year.
Darren O`Sullivan might make a big impact this year as well.

Is paudie naturally a half back though? I know he played there with the minors but thought he was being played out of position? Although I think he was centre back on midleton cbs team I always saw him as a corner forward no?
What age is Lar Corbett?

No Kilkenny man should be on this list.
The winners of Dublin and Wexford are gonna take us in the leinster final and after that it will be an umitigated disaster culminating in a quarter final defeat to Waterford.
Mark my extremely drunken words.

As much as it pains me to give credit to any tipp hurlers but Lar Corbett is a classy bit of stuff and in my humble opinion much better than Eoin Kelly. I cannot see for the life of me why he is not used by Tipp a bit more as his starts appear to be a little erratic, or is that just my perception. Lets hope that the new `sull` from Cork does not end up as over-rated as the other one. Canning will also be a fantastic player as long as the hatchet men, not withstanding those previously mentioned, give him fair play. Big difference between hard and dirty play and stars need to be protected. I saw a Lyng name from Wexford mentioned, is he anything to d**e the great handballer from those shores.

Shane McGrath will be Tipps leading light this year, along with Paul Curran IMO. McGrath is tough as nails and works so hard. he is the engine of the team and is our most important player.
Paul Curran had a tough season last year, injured in the early part only to return to be assaulted by a Dublin gurrier...he has had a great league he could easily be all star full back this year...

If league form is anything to go by (Which it normally isn`t ) Shane Mcgrath of Tipp could be in for a big year, he was head and shoulders over everyone else in the league. Would also agree that John Lee of Galway was very good as well.

Doubtful, Curran is faster and tidier than Fanning. Fanning did get an all-star last year but I can`t see him getting ahead of Curran even though he`s been solid enough in the few games he`s had. Posession is 9/10ths of the law.
Lar is about 27 I think. He played u21 in 2001 and possibly `02 iirc. Has started the world of games for Tipp but is generally taken off. Still think he`d be better off at Wing Forward where his pace and lámh would be a huge asset to the half forwards. No way is he better than Kelly though.
McGrath is a fantastic player and credit to Babs for giving him a run the last 2 years. His sweeping up in the half-back line is a great tactic and he catches the world of ball there and in our hf line off our own puckouts. Serious hard-worker and his hurling has come on a good bit this year again.

Michael Murphy, Donegal footballer.
Only 19 and has been struggling with injury. Played for the minors and the seniors last year. Hopes are as high for him in Donegal as they are in Galway for Master Canning.

Not really sure if Keith Rossiter`s talents are appreciated outside of Wexford but he`s a real class act. Great game against Tipp in last year`s quarter final. Not a genuine inter-county full or centre back but can`t question his hurling ability. Hopefully he`ll get a chance to shine this year.

I prefer Curran to Fanning any day, all star or no all star. as you say he is faster and tidier than Fanning. Fanning is unlucky in that he has been on the scene for a few years and was tried in a few positions without nailing any of them down. He then gets a run at full back and does really well but Curran has taken his chance while Fanning was out injured and wont be displaced..
Unless one of the first choice corner backs gets roasted I dont thing we will see a lot of him this year.

Lar Corbett is a great League player. Has he ever hurled a decent game in the Championship?

he has averaged 3 and 3.6 points per championship game in the last two seasons...
not too many limerick forwards have done that in the last 2 years from play...
Ye would love to have him..
