New 3 a side indoor "hurling" game/sport sponsored by Guinness. Looks a bit dinky with the 21" hurls but interesting idea.

This looks like an interesting concept. Three minutes does appear a very short playing time though.
Also maybe AFR contributor Pa Laide should be looking for royalties. Check out his contribution to
this
topic from a few years back.

Oh Oh.
Somebody made the Kilkenny flag blue and white and the Waterford one black and amber in the dates/venues part of the ad.

Those `specially designed` cubes might be a bit of a barrier to widespread acceptance?

yea, they should`ve come up with something that can be played in a five aside soccer pitch.

I`ve always had my suspicions about Pa Laide. He was always
very sensitive to even mild criticism of the official GAA website.

Did you know that blue and white colours inverted will give you black and yellow (amber )

it was the nike ad a few years ago, with the scorpion tournaments, davids, henry, ronaldinho etc. for the 2002 world cup... our very own robbie keane was in it...
the looks a poor rip off to be fair. although fair deuce for at least trying something different, could be fun to play

if it is marketed well and get good weather for the days they are on I can see big crowds going to see this. If this is a success this could be Guinness`s greatest achievement in sponsoring the hurling

3 minutes though. Come off of it.
I can see why they went with three for the morkishing and all that josh but c`mon. Surely ten would`ve been more like it.

Why? Irish-invented games inferior to English-invented ones?

I think it looks class in fairness. Id say if they wanted to keep it going after the initial tournament, Guinness could maybe grab iniative and provide sponsored "cubes" to clubs/town councils etc. anything that gets more pople interested in and playing any form of hurling is a good thing imo. I could see it taking off if its promoted right.

Ten minutes at three a side?! That`d kill you!
Sure it`s hard enough to play ten minutes of backs and forwards when there`s only about half a dozen a side.
(What`s `morkishing?` )

I think three is too short anyway. I play indoor soccer and the odd time when people don`t show we play for an hour with 4 a side. You`d be in bits afterwards.
3 minutes though I don`t know. I guess I`ll wait untill I see it.
morkishing is as googley eye described it.
