Does anyone give Carlow a chance against a Meath team with 8 players suspended? Could be a tight game, if Carlow are anyway useful.....

carlow team a few years ago would have beaten them, i remember wexford had it tough to beat them before mr whelan tangled with mr crawford that day in croke park, they had the best midfield in páirc an chrócaigh that day. pity walsh went to wicklow, not so sure now

The view here in Meath is that it`s lucky we have Carlow in the first round. If we were up against almost any other Leinster team we could be struggling. Don`t think we`ll hav it easy but even though Kenny, McKeigue and Murphy will be badly missed, we should come through with at least a 6 or 7 point win. Crawford has been poor for the last couple of years, McAnarney was unlikely to start anyway, Brian Farrell could feature if needed.

It`s been all downhill for Carlow this year after the optimism that surrounded them over their good showing in the O`Byrne cup and then their opening round div 4 victory in Miltown Malbay ,they proceeded to garner only a further six league points with their only win of note being a bit of a shock against Tipp , they other two came against London and New York .
It is very hard to see them get any kind of a result against Meath ( even with their suspensions ) who will rise themselves as always in the face of adversity .

Meath will win on Sunday and Mr Bealin will trot out his book of 2008 excuses. I`m expecting the first one to be something to do with Meath being extra fired up due to having 8 players suspended. It left his Carlow team at an obvious disadvantage.
