Great to see a couple of Callan lads on the panel. Still the same auld sh1te of city players (but none from OLG ) . No one coming through from the Shamrocks, Graigenamanagh, Glenmore, Muckalee, Dunamaggin (keep em down ) , Windgap etc etc. Not too many clubs mentioned

I have a cousin playing at the weekend. He really is a lovely hurler!!! The one thing i would worry about is the amount of perperation they are doing for this thing, training all over the county, playing challenge games. Its too much IMO.
The weekend itself is a great idea, but too much build up to it.

Ive seen a good few of these hurling this year and it has the makings of a winning team but a couple of things i might have a small gripe about 1 ) Darragh Egans brother, dont know his name, hes a back, looks better than him in most club games yet cant make this panel.2 ) Emeralds, who were only beaten in the KK Feile final by 3 or 4 points to eventual AI champions only have 1 player on the panel, having seen them twice against good opposition id imagine that should be a Couple more.3 ) Bennetsbridge have 2 on this panel yet they are in Rionn C at this level, these lads must have been unreal in the development squads because you couldnt pick them off Rionn C club form.On a similar note,St Lachtains have NOBODY on the panel yet managed to beat the star studded Kilmacow (3 on this panel ) by 25 POINTS in the RIonn B league 1/4 final, hard to see them turning that around.Long and short of it is that i wouldnt have total
faith in our Development squad system and results at various underage levels have dipped a little since it was set up.This team
looks like it might change that this weekend, hopefully.

Antrim are playing in Division 2 in a group of Kildare, Meath and Carlow. Westmeath, Laois, Waterford B and Kerry are in the other group. Top side goes through to the final. It`s a very good side by Antrim standards. 10 of them are from St Johns who won the Division 2 Feile title this year.
Tyrone and Armagh are in Division 3 - not sure of the rest of the group.

Cork have only used one venue for all their training so they haven`t exactly been all over the county training as you said in an earlier post!

Ballyhooly and Castletownroche are the same Parish as far as i know, the pitches are only 3 or 4 miles from one another, its hardly a good example to qualify your "all over the County" arguement with.No difference to me really its just an observation.

The Cork side have trained 6 times, all took place in Bishopstown.
They played Tipp last sunday in a challenge, this was played in Castletownroche. They have never been to Ballyhooley.
They played Clare in a challenge which was played in Meelick just outside Limerick city.

Waterford have contest the last 4 finals, winning there first Tony Forristal last year.
Not sure if this team is as strong as some of the ones gone before them but none the less they should give a good account of themselves.

Your obviously involved anyway bouncer. A bit touchy about it. Wouldn`t stop me wondering about the value of having a county U-14 team.
Anyway best of luck to Cork, and all the other players.

Clare group.
Tipp 2.13 - Wex 0.5 played at 11 am this morning.
Wex 3.7 - Clare 3.7 played at 1pm
Clare played well and led by 7 pts at one stage , Wex in fairness rallied well and got a draw with a point in the last few seconds.
Tipp v Clare at 3pm....winner goes through to meet winner of other 3 team group in comp semi final.

he might not be involved but it`s fairly obvious he knows more about than you about it. i`d disagree that there`s no merit in an u-14 team as it`s a crucial stage in young lads development and could have a massive bearing on what sports they want to be involved in. it also gives other lads a target to aim for and is the logical conclusion of having a development squad

Look i`ll ask my aunt to come on here an give an explabation about where she got her info from. By telling me they were in Limerick he added to the point i was making about being all over the county. I just don`t think representitive hurling (or football ) at 14 is productive, thats all.
Cork are in the Division 1 final against Galway tomorrow.

Laoise were supposed to have a good side in Division 2, by all accounts... Beat Wexford recently in a practise game, I think.
