Hopefully the winners of the Waterford final on the Saturday will travel to Blarney on the following day to play! It would be a hell of a let-down not to have the game played! Good win over Kilmoyley but won`t mean a thing if we don`t win on Sunday! If 300 people travelled to Kerry from Blarney how many will there be on Sunday?? I can`t see it unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances but hopefully the lads will do the business!!

was nearly in scarriff when i heard it was moved to meelick
as a neutral it was a brill game ending 4.13 to 2.13

up by 8 as i can remember at one stage and then only a point in it until the game swung on its head again

meelick pitch was excellant but the weather was attrocious

Fair play to Broadford and Kilmihil for winning to day
we will get a few more days out before xmas thank god

The Waterford intermediate final was abandoned after 15 minutes on Saturday due to the appalling weather. There was no score at the time! Its refixed for next weekend so once again Waterford will no representatives in this competetion or the senior football due to the county boards inability to run championships off in time.

Fair play to broadford, they were well better than our representatives. Better team won. I must say, saw a topic last week on clare hurling and it cant be too bad if clare intermediate champions are this good. For a small team they have alot of heart.

As for us we`re happy to be up senior next year, the lads did us proud! We`re young and hard to beat!

clare are aiming for three in a row in this grade.

clooney two years ago clonlara next year and broadford in the final now.
i assume becuase of thier population that blarney will take beating in this competition. anthony dalys view would be interesting considering how easily they beat kilmoyley.

Broadford are a solid outfit with two excellent forwards in Aongus Obrien and Pardaig Hickey...but they are not in the same league as either Clonlara or Clooney IMO.

I dont think they will beat Blarney if they are reasonable Cork intermediate champions..hope i am wrong.

Noticeable trend emerging. Last 3 intermediate winners have been East Clare clubs. This year Parteen actually beat Broadford twice, and Kilenena and Whitegate are probably the other strong sides in contention at this grade. Again, All 3 are east Clare sides.

Eire Og, Ballyhea were the two clubs involved in the relegation playoff....two mid Clare clubs..

My be the hurling in clare is not so bad after all as other threads have suggested
I think after 60 odd minutes of championship hurling at this grade Broadford will be munster intermediate hurling champions
the tide has changed indeed

Was surprised to see Broadford beating Clare. Bruff looked very impressive in their county final win over Caherline. In saying that Bruff have some nice ball players but would stuggle in heavy conditions. How did Paul Browne play as he was their star player in the county final?

Limerick poor record in Munster club competitions continued with Ballysteen losing in the Intermediate football.

Bruff were missing a few lads. JA Moran who`s puck outs hammered Caherline was out  (presume the weather put him off knowing him )  and Broadford got soft goals. Bobby O`Brien who also gave Caherline a torrid time was out. And a contender for MOTM in a lot of Bruff`s games this season, Madden sat this one out.

Not to take from Broadford but 4 players were missing from the county final team.

Disappointed in Bruff. They had a good chance to do something for Limerick in Munster. Can`t see Adare doing anything interesting unfortunately.

kilmihil beat them 10 to 6 in swamp like conditions....

Would hickey be worth a look for the county panel lads.....he was on it early last year but had a hand injury at the time and wasn`t right, played fairly well for the county intermediates this year along with another good campaign for broadford, was excellent last year and nearly beat clonlara by himself in the county semi final til domhniall o donovan went back to mark him......

With a bit of coaching he could be a good lad to have no the panel, well able to attack a ball....

i would be very dissappointed as a neutral if he does not get a run in the league but may be like our other forwards
winter hurling probably suits them better
when the ground gets hard then we have problems

deserves a chance anyway......would rather him in the corner than barry nugent to be honest.....although whether he would be good enough for senior championship is another matter......

How old is aongus o brien.....he was on the panel when daly was in charge....would he be worth a go in the waterford crystal....

Was talking to a fella from Blarney today and he was under the impression that the fixtures were the same for this weekend, ie Waterford county final on Saturday and the Munster championship match on Sunday. Are Blarney definitely gone through?

The examiner reported today  (Monday )  that "provincial chiefs have vowed they will reschedule the game to accommodate the Waterford side".

If it`s true that they will allow the Blarney v An Rinn/Mollerans game to be played on Sunday the 16th, I find it strange that they couldn`t have announced that arrangement this time last week. If the game had been scheduled for the 16th all along as it should have been, the co board wouldn`t have had to risk the health of 30 hurlers by sending them out in a tornado last Saturday  (8/11 ) .
Not only that, but when it became obvious on Saturday that the weather was so bad, they might have rescheduled the match for Sunday, maybe in Walsh Park  (going against the senior final, but so be it )  safe in the knowledge that the winning team would be able to represent the county the following week.
If that had happened, and Mollerans had won, the An Rinn - Ballinacourty football 1/4 final could be played with the 2 other outstanding 1/4 finals this weekend, and we would be in a position to play the county final before the end of November.

where to start....in a munster final for a club our size is just unbelieveable. broadford. we are unrecogniseable from the team that lost to parteen twice in county championship and only barely beat kilmaleys 2nd team. the addition of davy fitz as trainer after the all ireland has been an unbelieveable asset to us. training is done at such a pace, thats one of the main reasons that we can seem to be finishing our matches strongly. the whole parish is gone bonkers esp the older folks. team is keeping feet on the ground, we know that we have one more hurdle to overcome before we can dream of playing in all ireland series. an answer to few of yere questions. padraig hickey and aounghus are def good enough to be on clare panel plus one or two others, but of course the initial panel is allready named and we have no representatives its a load of boll*^%s. but our main focus is club first. hope the match is not on for 3 weeks so i can recover from my injury. wont elaborate any more. ath leathan abu
