Question lads!!
I read three different reports yesterday on the Adare Toomevara Match one from Hoganstand one from Jackie Cahill in the Sun and one in the Independant I dont know who but they all commented on Adares great display and how the are the first Limerick representitive in a Munster Club Hurling final Since Kilmallock in 1994! I am certain that Patrickswell contested the 2003 final against Newtownshandrum who beat The Well and Subsequently went on the win the All-Ireland!

Is this a dream I had?

No your right, I am sure they played in a final since also.

As for DLS, watched them last night on the highlights on TG4, they look like a good lively team also, conditions looked perfect for hurling in Cork on Sun compared to Lmk.

Should be a good open final. John Mullane was flying it on Sun as was the Bull Phelan.

You are dead right, Odysseus, Newtown beat Patrickswell by 2-18 to 2-9. The final was played in Thurles.

Its going to be a very hard game to call. You would think that with Adare`s experience plus the win over Toom would make them slight favourites but this stage is completely new to both teams so anything can happen. Both counties need this badly. It will also be the first time both teams have played in thurles and i would imagine its the best pitch they will have played on all year. If we can keep Mullane relatively quiet I think Adare will win by a couple of pts but that is easier said than done. Can`t wait for it.

havent had a chance to look at adare yet, i assume i can get the highlights of their game on the TG4 site??

From a DLS view it`ll play to our strenghts the better the conditions for the game but we can battle aswell if thats whats needed. Aside from the 3 county lads, mullane, moran adn phelan paidi nevin at half forward, micheal doherty and ian flynn in the backs have been impressive. These 3 lads are only about 23,and should be brought on in the league if nothin else for t county.
The DLS team is fairly young, 2 U21s in half back line, one corner forward and moat of the bench aswell. most of the rest of the team are not more than 25 so the fitness levels and enthusiasm will be there if not that much experience of this level

p`well also contested the 1997 munster final which they lost to clarecastle ,who of course had the`special one`, the sparrow, playing for them! regarding sunday week, both sides will fancy their chances, its a one off game , a blow to adare regarding mike noonans unavailability but if they play like they did in the 1st half last sunday, DLS will find it hard to beat us..anyway, roll on sunday week, cant wait for it now!!

first round/semi final...i won`t lose any sleep over it....i wasn`t too far off in fairness....think clarecastle were unlucky the same day only last by a couple of points.....would i be right in saying that Blueprint, i am sure a good newmarket man like yourself will remember most of clarecastles defeats......

I don`t think we have the players at the moment for it, we are going to thin on the ground for good quality senior players for another few years until some the U-16`s come through. A lot of guys have retired for one reason or other in the past few years, most of them in fairness who are just getting old.

Shur you can say that about few players,Brian Sexton too would be another one.

Seanie had a nasty break on his hand in the summer playing a challenge match for the seniors.

I heard the same but wasn`t sure how accurate it was. Would be great to have him on the bench, our subs look fairly bare.

Mikey Lyons should be asked to go back. He was there earlier on in the year and is still fit from the soccer he`s playing. Maybe a few lads from the football like Mike Twomey, Damien Mordan, Dave Lavin. A few of the U21s/juniors maybe that wouldn`t be afraid of the donkey work when it gets scrappy. Paul Kennedy is another. If for nothing else just to have a panel of players there in case some terrible unforeseen disaster happens. There would be no harm in it and it would be all for the greater good of Adare.

well the subs panel is certainly looking bare at the moment, one or two of those players you mentioned certainly worth a call up, paul kennedy seems to have disappeared without trace and is a fine hurler, also dave lavin and young lyons, is that true about mike clifford??Certainly hope so, all options need to be explored at this stage, would be great also to see the ol` jacko foley back in action again in the new year, at one stage I thought he was going to turn out a better hurler than mark did!!
