Wexford`s Nicky Lambert played in the Junior D district final the weekend before last - this just six years after playing in the All-Ireland semi final v Tipperary.

I know he has had he problems with injurys but this is a massive drop  for a still, relatively, young hurler to make.

Yes but the reason why he is playing that level  (Junior B )  is because he transferred from the Harriers  (senior club )  to a new club St Johns that was formed maybe 3 years ago. Nicky is more of a footballer anyway he lined out for Wexford at midfield in 2005 and 2006, but the guy has also had some really bad knee problems. Wouldn’t imagine he takes the hurling seriously anymore.

Does he fancy a game in Fermoy on Sunday?

I think he`s been lining out for one of Wexford Wanderers` sides in the rugby as well.

I heard recently that he shoudln`t be doing any sport at all cos his knee has been throuh so much damage over the years - not a very reliable source though I must admit.
