Have any of you seen the disgraceful behaviour of those so-called dragons on `dragons den`. They remind me of everything that is evil about banking and finance in Ireland., Ignorant people with access to money, insulting and sneering at hard-working people who have ideas they want finance for. The sneering is not worthy of corner-boys who sneer and jeer at anyone better than themselves. Such ignorance would not be tolerated in any polite society. Ignorant, Loathsome people.

It is a major problem with a lot of educated people to day! They can be so ignorant, simple things like there total lack of manners and respect, it would be a insult to animals to call them animals.

Hang on a mo.
The chap with the stabilisers needed stabilising himself (as one of judges alluded to ) . Marketing it at the wrong audience. It`s the manufacturers like Raleigh & Trek he should be going to. No parent is gonna buy a bike WITH stabilisers & then take them off & replace them with his` product. Once stabilisers are off once, they`re off for good. That`s generally the whole idea.
The handbag light man was a decent salesman although the idea itself for handbags, briefcases etc. I wouldn`t buy into. Seemed too iffy.
Yer` wan with the hen-party.ie website already has the site MINUS the hyphen (bought subsequent to her` current website ) & won`t change it because it doesn`t show up on first-page of a Google/Yahoo search if I`m correct. Fact is WITHOUT THE HYPHEN it`s easier to remember & therefore more repeatable . In business NOTHING beats word of mouth. If she`d henparty.com or hennight.com it`d`ve been way better.
The pizza guy operating out of a garage converted into a kitchen which he said was ok with health board but one of judges said it wasn`t? Wonder if he`s still operating after tonight? His` idea was commendable from a rural perspective though. I don`t know where nearest pizzeria delivery is to me & I`d imagine other rural dwellers might on occasion take advantage of something like that?
The golf score-card stand that doubles up as an advertising stand & the harness-roller-upper were probably well-conceived but maybe ill thought-out?
A lot of these things are great in theory but without proper research & financial costings (a no. of instances tonight AND last week ) they falter.
Great show though i.m.o.

I`ve no problem with the constructive critisism but there`s a lot of gratuitous insults thrown around the place as they all try to make some little quip or bon mot related to the type of product e.g. on your bike to the guy with stabilisers. A simple No, not interested would be much more professional and usual for a normal human being. It is possible to turn someone down and be nice about it - they tend to make it personal thinking it makes them look like the (wo ) man!

I think the point is that they`re making an entertainment show for television. Right or wrong, it`s those kind of comments that generate publicity and word of mouth - just like it is here!

No offence but everyone knows exactly what Dragons Den is all about and how it operates. So if you dont like that type or genre of entertainment why would you bother looking at it and then coming on to a website to complain about it.
I agree with you by the way, never liked the UK version of it because of the ignorance attached to it so im dam sure im not going to look at the Irish version.

Silly Man. Nobody sits to watch a programme with the intention of complaining about it. Except yourself!! I quote from your post " never liked the UK version of it because of the ignorance attached to it ". Why did you watch it then?
I happened to see it once, last night...it came on while I was on the computer. And you saw my response. I had no problem with the decisions. It was the gratuitous insult and sneering that I took exception to, and yes, I did turn it off.

Well if you can tell me how anyone can actually form an opinion of a programme without at least watching it once then you are a better man than i am. Silly and all as i am apparently.
I could have never watched it at all and then formed my opinion on it from that basis but that would be a bit stupid now wouldnt it.

the british dragons den is far better. didnt like the dragons on the irish version. also the questions asked seemed more releveant eg. business plans, target markets, advertising. maybe it had to do with time considering the irish show has ads in it.

Irish people can not do this type of show. Remember The Weaket Link with Eamon Dunphy. It never took off as Dunphy was too nice to people. This one will fall into the trap of people not liking it because the Dragons are too mean and so they will tone it down and the show just won`t work.

The reason it won’t work as well as in a bigger country is that we just won’t have as many good or even as many whacky ideas, smaller pool to draw upon I mean some of the ideas were pure muck.

Absolute balls of an attempt at the show. The dragons are rubbish. Questions are no where near as probing or incisive as the english version.
The ideas are boring. How many knobs with pizza parlours and websites are they going to let on this show. Not one interesting innovation or inventions yet and unlikely to be one if the standard so far is anythin to go buy. I`ve had better business ideas while on was on my lunch.

I thought it was just me but has she actually ever invested in anything? Sean and the Gavin lad seem reasonable but the other three just pss me off. Their guffawing tonight at the `pitchers` was annoying. That lad from Black tie seems particularly obnoxious.

There`s something nice about Sarah. I`d say she wears DJ out in the bedroom. He didn`t even hurl for the club last year.

are you for real? id say it wasnt her looks DJ fell for! her accent/voice goes through me, seems happy just to sit there and make little of everyone. typical english! i think "wagon" would be a more apt name. i feel she add`s very little to the show and i wonder could better dragons have been found? im sure her "valued" opinion doesnt come cheap either!
that Gavin chap is a bit too curt for my liking too. i know they have to potray being hard businessmen etc but its just very bad television in my opinion.
if i badly needed an investor in my business id find it very hard to take one of those dragons on board as my business partner.

Agree 100%. She is a waste of facking time on the show. She done well with her website and fair play to her she made her money. But she has no notion whatsoever of parting with any of it now.
I think all of the other 4 make an honest effort and bring something in their own way. But she is just utterly pointless.

I agree with avoidthebelts...that fella Sean is a pain in the butt. Still think its good viewing. Yer man with the fax was interesting, he really annoyed the dragons when he wouldn`t tell them the secret of how it worked, would love to see him make a success of it.
PS is it true that the last 3 Ernst & Young entrenprenuer of the year winners are gone bankrupt?

Ya yer man on the left seems to be always saying "im kinda midley interested in your idea etc" and has a look on his face like he really needs to go to the jacks and drop the browns off at the pool.!!
WTF happened with the fax fella? he offered him half the money for double the equity and 60 secs later he was out.
Do any of them invest?, i dont think they want to invest because the first questions i would have asked him was how much does it cost to make your fax cop and what do you retail it at. How many have you sold?. They just wanted to shoot the idea down and copy each other and say the now usual line of overinflated company valuation. Some of the people pitching are at a poor standard.
