That`s a reasonable price I would`ve thought. You`re looking at 30-40% of the peak  (i.e. 60-70% reduction )  price so do the maths!

House prices have already lost more than 30% in many areas.

Lads, there are a few roads near enough the stadium that you dont want to be buying a house on .........

Not sure from the add if Parkmore is one of them though I think it might be ...... if its where I think it is its just the Galway side of the stadium, very close to it. Make friends with the new neighbours fast or dont park outside .......

It is a great price though - proper prices at last!

You`d want to buy ASAP.
Prices won`t stay this low for long.
The recovery will begin in 2010.

House prices will not increase until the banks have enough confidence to start giving loans out to customers who are not in guarenteed income jobs. We are a long way from that point, there is now a very small pool of people who can actually buy a house right now.

Have a look at this link...

House prices will not increase until the banks are confident enough to loan as much money as the developers/builders want to charge which is what got us into this mess in the first place. Overpriced housing crippled people even during the boom and it was exacerbated by appaling planning in too many areas of the country.

We must never allow prices to get as out of hand as they did over the boom years. Nama is designed, as far as I can see, to allow the banking sector to begin to loan money for overinflated investments by greedy people who appear to have the government in their pockets. Remember it is mostly the same people who are in charge of the banks now that were there before the bust. We could also be facing a situation where banks are taking more taxpayers money whilst increasing the interest rates. Criminal baxtards.

Speaking of interest rates, i presume now a good time to fix a tracker mortgage before interest rates go up???

Would I get back on the tracker when the fixed term expires?

Trackers are finished, not enough money for the banks in them.

Well they must be robbin it so, seeing as how they are continuing to lend  (as you know )  but this time they appear to be using something akin to proper banking principles  (a novel concept ) . There are people out there who are whingeing about the banks not lending them money to prop up dead businesses.

Now would be a good time to put proper controls in place to ensure that we don`t get back to the good old days. One thing I would like to see is a ban forever  (legislated if necessary )  on 100% loans  (mortgages or others ) , max shouldn`t be more than 80%

The whole point of a tracker is that you cant fix. If you want to fix the bank will be only too pleased to let you out of the tracker to do so as they are loosing money on it. However they will not let you return to a tracker after your 3 or 5 years or whatever. Your tracker could be anything between 2.% to 4% below the fixed rates depending who you are with so if you think the ECB are about to shoot up rates then go ahead and fix. I`m going to wit a little while longer befor fixing. waiting for the german economy to get good growth, and then the beards in the ECB will have to put up rates to keep inflation down in the Eurozones biggest economy.

I don`t sense any racism there. That`s like saying the `Hill` is full of Dubs. It`s just true.

Racism is the belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race. Do you believe you are superior to travellers ?
