Looks a machine today. Hardly jumped a hurdle and still won as he liked.

Is he an absolute cert for supreme novice ? Personally I don`t back odds on but its hard to see what will beat him apart from his jumping. I would happily lay odds on if I was a bookmaker.......

I hope he goes chasing as I think he is a gold cup winner waiting to happen. The way he canters would remind you of Kauto Star or Best Mate!

Bar a fall he`s home and dry. Can`t wait for him to go chasing. Tired of watching Paul Nicholls trained horses winning all the big chases. Irish chasers haven`t had much luck in recent years in terms of injury. Our last couple of Gold cup winner

Sorry made a mess of that reply. ImpeiralCall, War of Attrition and Kicking King have all been blighted by injury when in there prime.

True, hopefully he stays injury free and goes all the way. Really hope he doesn`t go champion hurdle route next year

I think he should be aimed at the champion hurdle, he`s relatively old for a novice hurdler, 7 and if he goes for the chpion hurdle next year, he`ll be 9 by the time he goes chasing.

That jockey yesterday showed a scrotum of steel, even had a cheeky look at Ruby as he cruised past

Willie....this horse is the best bumper horse I have ever seen in about 20 years watching racing. Whenever I’m bored I’ll watch a replay of him demolishing them at Cheltenham last year, I’ve never seen a horse swinging like him 4f out! However he’s not a natural jumper and I would genuinely worry about him in the supreme going quicker than he has ever done over hurdles and more importantly in a big field where he might not get clear sight of his hurdles. Don’t get me wrong I’m not knocking the horse and would hope he annihilates them like last year but for me at the price he’s a definitely lay for me. As regards his age he is quite old for a novice hurdler and the plan according to Fenton  (not me )  is that he’ll go for the champion hurdler next year and there is no immediate plan to ever go chasing with him cos he has been schooled and he’s just not a good jumper. If he could jump better at his age he would definitely be lining up for the Arkle this season. So unfortunately I don’t think he’ll ever be a gold cup horse which is a pity cos he’s got a freak of an engine on him!

I`d say its most unlikely this horse will ever go chasing. He`s not a natural jumper and is very light boned so I think he`d be better aimed at Champion hurdles from here on....We`ll have to wait for Joncol to head for the Gold Cup in 2011

re what race he goes for it really is down to the priorities of the owners. maybe they would just love to win a cheltenham. in which case maybe they should stay the novice route. think he would win even if he jumped as poorly as yesterday. personally i feel even if he only jumped conservatively and safely  ( which is probably the beat that can be hoped for at the moment  )  he would be in the shake up for the champion, albeit that i think the depth in the novice ranks is poor this year and he might have had greater tests already in other seasons.

Didn`t he win at Cheltenham last year? So they`ve had that moment in the sun already.
He`s only raced about six or seven times, they are right to go the novice route because he is just that. A novice!

Just because his jumping is a bit sketchy now doesn`t mean he won`t jump a fence. He`s big enough and rangy looking, remember jumping is a lot to do with the pace a horse is running at. Some horses tend to jump better the quicker they are going. That would be the very good ones. And you see this at Cheltenham more than anywhere else. The races at the festival are run at a quicker pace and some horses thrive on that.

Dunguib looks like a chaser and winning the Supreme Novices wouldn`t be a bad start - Best Mate and Denman couldn`t win one.

But he has to win it first. If he wins it the way he won his bumper he`s the next Kauto Star

Sorry about spelling lads!

Maybe the quicker they go the better he will jump. It will be interesting to see will the bookies take him on.
They should really because they have plenty other races to get the losses back.

It will be some start to the week.....

He does look dodgy jumping, but you never know, he may well make a better chaser than hurdler, some horses don`t respect the smaller fences. A good clatter into some stiff birch might change his attitude.
Still, if he were mine I`d be thinking Gold Cup at Ascot, Prix du Cardran, Prix Royal Oak with this horse next summer/autumn, he absolutely canters around at the distance.

He looks the real deal allright, I have never seen a horse attack the hill at Cheltenham like he did last year, sent shivers down my spine. I think he is streets ahead of this years novices and there will be some cheer when Fenton kicks for home come March. Can`t wait!!
