Topic: Tipp and Kilkenny - How can two sets of supporters have such a problem?

Reading a few threads around here I get the impression that neither of these two groups deal with reality.

The Tipp boys behave as if they are the most sinned against group of saints on the face of the earth and the Kk boys behave as if every act on the pitch is valid due to the "mans game" nature of hurling.

Deluded the lot of them.

I watched the AI final like a lot of people.

Tipp players got away with murder, any kilkenny player that went of a solo run ended up having elbow surgery.
A number of Kk players should have been noted and/or yellow carded.

As for Tommy Walsh, can some one please show me the clip that shows Benny Dunne fixing his helmet...

There was one sending off incident in that game.
Tipp left the game behind them with some wayward attempts at points in the second half.
The Kk goalie had the game of a lifetime.

As a neutral I enjoyed it greatly and would look forward to a repeat next year should Clare not make it but for the love of god can you guys not accept the fact that the distant past belonged to Tipp the current era belongs to Kk... oh yeh, Cork have not gone away you know.

Will Tipp ever play that well again?
Can Kk play that bad again in a knockout game?

Can you give us the names of the Kilkenny players who had elbow surgery after the All Ireland Final. This has been kept very quiet.

Since that attempt at humor is above or below you, I can give you the name of a Kilkenny player who required stitches after the game if that helps.

If everyone accepts the current era belongs to Kilkenny then why play the championship at all. Sport is great because we all expect the unexpected.

But sure it does belong to them. They took hold of it as did the great teams from Cork and Tipp in bygone decades.

The future is what`s up for grabs, the whingers from both sides are trying to color the past with their impressions of it rather than focus on how the future will be built.

He who controls the present controls the past. He who controls the past controls the future. George Orwell said something not dissimilar to that which I wont be bothering to look up.

More to the point, is it not obvious that we enjoy rattling each other? Nothin gives me greater pleasure than hearing a Tipp man bitch about the penalty decision. And four unanswered All Irelands is a great thing to have when Tipp people start talking about the home of hurling. At least where I grew up, Tipp has always been the biggest rival we have, and no amount of rationality is going to take from the pleasure in having a go at them. I`m sure the feeling is mutual.

This belongs stuff is bulls**, Hurling never belonged to Tipp in the 60’s, Cork in the 70`s or KK now.

Just as Football does not belong to Kerry.

Nobody has won an AI this decade yet, it belongs to no one, and every team should approach it that way, too many teams in GAA pay too much attention to traditional and are beaten before a ball is Kicked or Pucked.

Luckily now and again we get teams like the Clare Hurlers of the 90`s and Tyrone Footballers of 00`s to come along and show us that the GAA does not belong to the so called the elite.

A lot of this anguish has to do with the high level of interbreeding along the Kilkenny Tipperary border.
At last the Shannon is there to minimise such activity between Tipp and Galway and Tipp and Clare.

What about all the inbreeding in Cork, the wall keeps them all in.

`any kilkenny player that went of a solo run ended up having elbow surgery.`
`Reading a few threads around here I get the impression that neither of these two groups deal with reality.`

Its obvious who around here isnt in touch with reality. A paradox seems to be beyond comprehnsion too . `Tipp left the game behind them with some wayward attempts at points in the second half.
The Kk goalie had the game of a lifetime.`

Tipp and KK fans are not deluded. They understand the nature of rivalry very well and KKCatExile`s views are reciprocated on the other side of the border. Long may it continue.

A paradox? Oh you regard these two things as mutually exclusive comments. Missing points and the goalie having the game of his life... As a matter of fact they are very much related.

As for the Tipp players challenges on Kilkenny players soloing the ball... elbow tapping was very evident during the game... Tipp players got away with it, kilkenny players did not...

Swings and roundabouts.

Tipp missed two goals. Thats why they lost. Little to do with points.
Who were the players requiring surgery? Or has it now been reduced to `elbow tapping`?
Yeah, swings and roundabouts. Happens in all rivalries. Tipp and KK know all about it.
As ye do in Clare.

And what about the Tipp / Cork porous border?

Alot of people have forgotten that KK had goal chances in the first half and missed those also.

How do you think the Tipp hurling stock has improved recently? It`s all part of an ingenious Tipp master plan - the Mullinahone area is not called the nursery of Tipperary hurling without reason.
In a related development, it`s said that a Kavanagh`s bus brought a load of Muckalee and Railyard women to Killarney for the weekend.

It`s not why they lost.

They lost because they were forced into attempting some long range points late in the second half and if they had put those points over and taken a 4+ point lead I for one think Kk would not have gotten back into the game at that point.
10 men down and they were actually going forward and getting stronger, more accuracy with the point taking and they would have won the game.

The Cork interbreeding is different.
Cork interbreeding is like crossing a pedigree Charolais Bull with a pedigree Charolais Heifer. Only class can come from that match
The Kilkenny Tipp type of interbreeding is any old bull crossing with an old cow that is heading for the burger factory. Yellow pack burgers is all that will come of it.

And there they were in a yellow pack league final and then a yellow pack AI last year, while the class sat around on their widening arses complaining that they weren`t being treated like the world class heifers they are.
