The book is infinitely better. The film does not even begin to do the book justice.
A brilliant concept completely let down by a truly awful, comically bad screenplay.

Were ye watching the same film lads? Thought it was the best i`ve seen in a long time, definitely the best-made film of the past few years. Ending not predictable either, in fact i still think it`s open to interpretation and can`t make my mind up.

Predictable , jaysus u must be psychic - Di Caprio`s last lines are brilliant. Did they go completely over your head or something?

I haven`t seen it, and I might pass on it, but try to catch the film `The Ninth Configuration`, starring Stacy Keach, which might be loopier, and much more fun, from what I`ve heard of the Scorsese film.

Thought Shutter Island was the best thing I`ve seen in a long time. Green Zone is not real bad. Matt Damon is very watchable as is our own Mr. Gleeson but speaking of the bould Brendan Perrier`s Bounty is the most detestable piece of s** I`ve seen in years.

Thanks for confirming my scepticism about those gushing reviews on `The View`, D2!

I thought Shutter Island was quite enjoyable. The ending was a little predictable . That said while watching it i came up with 3 or 4 alternative endings in my head.
Liked Green Zone too. Bourne in Iraq really

I don`t enjoy saying it but it was absolutely awful. I loved Intermission and thought it captured Dublin brilliantly, maybe better than any other film bar The Snapper but this is just tripe. I`m a big fan of Cillian Murphy and Gleeson too but they must have got involved in this as a favour to someone. I know Mark O`Rowe is a respected playwright and he wrote a brilliant script for Intermssion but he must have been on another planet when he wrote this one

I thought it was no where near as good as the Bourne movies. Bored me senseless to be honest and gave me a headache with all that flashy camera work.

just back from the cinema after watching it. thought it was excellent. the ending was very good and scorscese really delivers. one of the best films iv ever seen. the film seems to have divided people - even in the cinema most people thought it was strange and didnt really get it.

I haven`t seen `Intermission`, either.
The problem is that too many professional reviewers seem to be afraid, or unwilling to give negative reviews to local work so you just can`t trust their positive reviews.
Best film made by an Irish director is still `The Butcher Boy`
(and only `Angel` comes close, I think )
