Being played bank Holiday weekend, any news of the fixture list.

A lot of big games in this round with a few `big` teams having lost 1 game so this becomes a do or die game.

Trouble brewing on the fixtrues front already with the Master`s Fixtures plan in danger of flying out the window.
At last night`s county board meeting, the two u-21 football semi final`s for this Thursday evening both cancelled with a comment added that the next available date is October - surely hope this is a joke!
One of the semi finals called off because Lissycasey and Miltown have a player each involved in the Clare u-21 hurling who I understand neither player featured v Limerick.

Then to top it off, the Clare minor hurling management want Round 2 off the football scheduled for August 7th/8th deferred until after the minor hurling semi final on August 15th - there is already an 8 week break since round 1 was played - if this request is granted, it will make a farce of the fixtures plan seeing as the minors managed to play 3 games in a week already in the championship along with the impact of rescheduling of games in the hurling as a result.

I can see why the U21 semis were under pressure  ( although postponing until October is unbelievable  ) , but how many of the Clare minor hurlers are likely starters in the club senior football championship ?
If we go down this route every fixture that has already been decided will be affected ,and a massive log-jam and panic run-off in October will occur .

Exactly, what a joke. Let their clubs do without them if thats the case. Football championship wont be held up for minor hurling. If the Football clubs have any balls they will oppose this

All clubs need to oppose this. if you can`t do without your minor hurlers at this stage in the championship its idle.
we can`t keep jumping around the fixtures every time our county team wins a game.

welcome to the world of wexford hurling and football club championships.

every time a county team wins the games are called off. wait acutallly no games are scheduled until the county footballers and hurlers are both out. this means when they are out the championship can begin. its ridiculous. we have played 1 round of the senior hurling championship and that was back in may. the football championship is the same.
its a complete joke.

Gp 4 ,
Clonlara v Corofin-Clonlara
Ballyea v Crusheen-Crusheen

Grp 1 - a broadford win would really throw the cat amongst the pigeons. i`m going for this as my surprise of the round

Grp 2- if SMB and cratloe win its down to a three way with IK. i expect both to win and come out of the group.

Grp 3- A NOF win will get them through, they`ve not been great but are winning which is all that matters. A good east Clare derby in the other, second spot still open, a Mills win gives them a huge boost.

Grp 4 - Crusheen and Clonlara both need a win as Josephs are a real threat in this group. A slip up here would be really costly. Corofin have been poor this year and Clonlara will win. Ballyea will be stickier opposition but Crusheen should have enough.

A big weekend for a number of clubs. Wolfe Tones perhaps the biggest team with most to lose.

Some huge games
Sunday in de Park: Tones V Cratloe and Bridge V Tubber
Must win games for all 4 clubs. Tubber or Tones lose and they will be gone, almost, though Tones could still scrape in if beat Bridge.
If Bridge or Cratloe lose they are also under huge pressure due to their draw last day as they would only be able to get 5 points each.
I fancy Tones to win this one, was nothing between them last year and that 1 point defeat still hurts. Also think Bridge will have too much for Tubber who seem to have slowed up recently and had some poor results in last few league games
