Any ideas about which club has the longest uninterrupted sequence of years at senior level, hurling or football?

Claughaun from Limerick City have been a senior football club without break since their foundation in 1902. They were a senior hurling club continuously up to 2001 when they were relegated but were promoted again back to senior in 2007.

Turloughmore hurling was formed in 1886 and from waht I know were never releagted from senior. That is 124 years. I think they are the only club in the county to have always had a senior team.
They are in relegation again this year but I think they will stay up.

Well, the GAA was founded on November 1st, 1884.
A few clubs like Tullaroan and Round Towers (Clondalkin ) were both founded in December 1884.
The attached article however claims that Young Irelands in Co. Louth is the oldest.

Blackrock have played senior hurling in Cork since 1889. They are in trouble this though, and may be relegated.
Thurles Sarsfields have been senior in Tipp probably since the start also. Faughs in Dublin - senior since at least 1900.

Clonakilty have only been senior since 1932 - they won the 1931 Intermediate title. Other than UCC and the divisions, no other team has had a longer run.

Yorkie,
I bow to your superior knowledge. As a West Cork man , I will admit that I have a much better knowledge of the Cork hurling club scene than the football equivalent. I accept your point that Clonakilty have played continuously in the senior grade since 1932. I do know Clon played senior in the 1880`s ,90`s 1900`s and assumed that they had remained a senior club at all times . Thank you .
