Due to the increase in complete bollix being spouted here I said I`d try and start a thread about who the best hurlers will be in the country in 5 years. The only pre-requisite is that there is a nice spread of counties and not focussed just on Kilkenny for example. Here`s my go at it anyways:

1 Adrian Power  (Waterford )
2 Shane O Neill  (Cork )
3 Keith Rossiter  (Wexford )
4 Noel Connors  (Waterford )
5 Tommy Walsh  (Kilkenny )
6 David Kenny  (Offaly )
7 Padraic Maher  (Tipperary )
8 Alan McCrabbe  (Dublin )
9 Cathal Naughton  (Cork )
10 Noel McGrath  (Tipperary
11 Liam Rushe  (Dublin )
12 Eoin Larkin  (Kilkenny )
13 Darach Honan  (Clare )
14 Joe Canning  (Galway
15 Richie Hogan  (Kilkenny )

Obviously a few minors and under 21`s will emerge in the next couple of years so feel free to add them in.

With all due respect KM, predicting what any situation in life will be in 5 years time is complete bollix.

No Brenden Maher?? Best player on the field last Sunday.
Suppose Michael Cahill and Noel Conners are future corner backs that will achieve a good bit in the game. Padraig Maher will probaly be FullBack long term with a bit more experience. Nicky O Connell is one to watch out for in Centre Back. Brenden Maher and Declan Hannon will figure somewhere surely. Patrick Maher centre forward, Big Joe Full Forward, Noel McGrath will be there, Kevin Downes from Limerick is a serious player for the future as is Coner McGrath,Darach Honan,Colin Ryan,Brian O Meara,Pa Bourke,TJ Reid, Richie Power,Richie Hogan. Depends on which players show the right attitude and hunger that will stand out.

Perhaps you mean Shane Dunne  (Causeway VS corner forward with the DJ Carey style of stride and strike ) ?

Cathal could be decentralised to wing or corner.
