Topic: PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU NEXT POST: How to respond to Offensive Comments

On another topic here, a user made an offensive comment. Five people made angry and shocked responses to it. Not one of them reported it as offensive so that we could deal with it. Someone else did that, so now the issue has been dealt with. But no thanks to the `five angry men` for that.

It is stupid responding to a comment you consider to be offensive, especially without notifying using the `report offensive comment` facility. That silly approach just gives it greater currency, makes it harder for us to clean up the topic and delays our response.

Be sensible. Think about what you`re doing.

PLEASE report a comment you think is offensive or libellous.

I am not going to give an offensive comment greater currency by answering you, and please don`t you do it either - even under the guise of an `innocent` query.

Do you not understand? When something is offensive we have delete  EVERY reference to it, even something that might identify it. There is no just no leeway on this.

Terrific advice AFR.

I`m from Tipperary and when I look at some of the stuff on PV and KK Kats forums, I must say that the moderation policy here is fantastic in comparison and thus the quality of forum on here far exceeds anything that could be found on other inferior web forums.

lads - do as AFR says and we will do alright here.

Keep up the good work everyone.

Are you for real. This is the most obnoxious sit eon the internet. If i want a real discussion on hurling i go to Rebelgaa,PV or KK. Great insights there. This place has a higher % of lads with a chip on the shoulder.
I welcome what AFR is doing. At the moment the only reason to come on here is to read about vogue or romance between posters

Other websites will come and go but let me tell you all this much - AFR will live on and outlast them all. Our Leader provides this site for us all free of charge and an excellent resource it is too.

No other Online GAA Forum has as much traffic as AFR - this is fact not fiction. No other Forum has as many registered users.

Ppl would want to start asking themselves - What can we do for AFR in return?

If that is to report Offensive comments or click on a few ads for Our Leader then so be it.

A Man the Dan.

By my calculations Dan, yourself and twicey would possibly be the longest standing members of this magnificent online community.

Well Done Sir!

Have you ever seen the Forum in ruder health?

Alive and kicking RDB.
I`ll be rooting for Clare in the Minor and then the senior I can`t believe I`m saying it but Ya, Tipp for me in that one. I won`t shout for them though, I`ll quietly shuffle my feet with they score.
KK will be out to deliver a hammering though. Hope the ref is up to the task. Time to stamp out the throwing of the ball out of danger, the wild once handed swinging and the assault on the elbows of players.

Yours etc,
GSH.

A Man GSH.

Sound man to have a pint with.

The last time I was talking to you, you swore blind you`d never follow a clare team again because "the County Board are a pack of +++++s"

Time, and an All Ireland Final, heals all it seems.

True true. If I can actually follow Tipp in a senior match then I can get over the Clare County board.

Yours etc,
GSH.

Don`t bother reporting a post.

We have records of hundreds of comments that have been reported and dealt with individually. There are no `favoured` posters. Please continue to report as you have been doing.

Just a question for you AFR,when you refer to an offensive post could you clarify what you mean by this,do you mean that the reader is offended by what is written or the dignity of the person or persons referred to in the post has been offended.
