Has to be the relentless hounding of offaly about being a kk-phile every time he expresses an opinion on anything. I know it may not seem funny to you offaly but its hilarious every time you comment on anything the next post will invariably mention your `appreciation` of kk. Its surely in joke territory at this stage?!
Competing examples welcome!

In fairness all the Wexford and Offaly lads love Kilkenny more than their own county, this lad has it bad though, "Kilkenny this, Henry Shefflin that"

Just put this up to highlight the comedic value, not to have anymore cheap shots at the man.

Yes how dare I say Kilkenny are good because they clearly have underperformed in recentyears as has Henry Shefflin

It`s getting worse the longer they stay unbeaten. He`s on first name terms with them and i`ve seen him starting to use nicknames like Gorta. He`ll be distraught when they eventually lose.

the best bit of this whole thing are the furious protestations of offaly to deny the kk love-in. Its like Fr. Ted Crilly and the the funds `resting` in that famous account. Rises to the bait like salmon after a bag of lime.
Sorry offaly, its just too funny.

You`d never get that in Munster, imagine Waterford or Clare lads going on like that about Tipperary or vice versa

Its like he dons an altar boys outfit and lies flat at the altar of Kilkenny seeking their approval, some sort of recognition, like the way a master pats his dog on the head or something

F*ck off with yer cyber bullyin ye c*nts an lave offaly alone. Maybe he just appreciates that this is probably the best hurling squad that has ever lined out in the history of our great game.
While I don`t think anyone, even KK supporters themselves, lie flat at the altar of Kilkenny seeking their approval, it would make a lot more sense for Irish lads to do that than to lie flat at the altar of Man Utd seeking their approval and the approval of all their like minded supporters. I`m not sure if that particular phenomenon could best be described as a running gag or just a sick joke at this stage (at Paddy`s expense ) .

As I pointed out it`s the humour in the situation I`m drawing attention to. If Offaly himself had a laugh at it it`d be finished long ago. Lighten up! If you look at any of my earlier posts on the matter you`ll see I have heaped equal praise on kk, purely the banter that`s going on that`s funny. And who said anything about any English soccer team? chill out kid!

DAF/Offaly is a good poster so I`m not going to have a pop at him individually but I would be rather concerned if I was an Offaly man who moved abroad ten years ago and arrived back in Birr or Tullamore or wherever to see how peoples attitude within the county has changed.
I don`t think Wexford have been affected in the same way as some people here are suggesting but Offaly seem to have developed a serious inferiority complex over KK. I was looking at reeling in the years last night and Offaly were winning AIs. They had a bit of county pride and could mix it with anyone. Now they seem content to sit back and let everyone think that they are sh1te and look up to KK to fly the flag for "Leinster Hurling". They seem just as happy for KK to win because they somehow feel a part of their success. This attitude must stop! No disrespect to KK but Fcuk them! That`s the attitude Offaly should have, they should see it as their right to be competing and winning Leinster titles and AIs.
No county in Munster however poor we may be will ever try to piggy back on another counties success. This is all just my opinion and Offaly men will be entitled to take offence and that`s fair enough because I have said some insulting things but I`m just sending home a few home truths as far as I see it based on the impression I get from talking to several Offaly people.
Until Offaly get rid of this attitude they will never compete again!

Trust me Offaly people are not trying to piggyback on Kilkennys success , its just I respect Kilkenny for how brilliant they are and having seen the demolition jobs they have done on us over the last 10 years it is very disappointing that we are no longer at the top level in hurling but that doesnt mean we cant respect Kilkenny for their brilliance.Theres nobody who would like to see Kilkenny beaten by Offaly more than me but it isnt going to happpen in the near future as we have not had any underage success in the last ten years and have only won 1 Leinster minor in about 20 years. In some ways Offaly are reverting back to type after overachieving in the 80`s and 90`s .The fact is that prior to 1980 Offaly were getting hammerings of Kilkenny and were well behind the top teams and the 80`s and 90`s were great years for Offaly hurling but in order for them to continue we needed to keep on producing good underage teams which we havent done in a while.Remember Offaly is a small county and is split 50:50 between football and hurling so we have not a huge amount to pick from in either code so our current mediocrity in hurling is not a huge shock.

Maybe the Offaly and Wexford lads appreciate good hurling when thye see it? Kilkenny are unreal, the best hurling team to play the game. Anyone who can`t admit that doesnt know much about hurling IMO.

We all know Kilkenny are the best team ever etc. We don`t need clowns like Offaly to remind us every chance he gets. No matter what topic is under discussion he throws in a remark on how great Kilkenny are. There was a thread about Anglo and the Regulator and he says that none of this would have happened if Cody was in charge in those places.

I didnt say that but you are quite corect Mike , cody would terrify them into doing a good job, he`d just have to give them the sort of look he gave Marty Morrisey last year

There used to be a few competing sagas a few years back.
One was the prospect of Waterford City Council annexing large swathes of South Kilkenny.
Another related to an encounter of a sexual nature in Golden, Co. Tipperary, with a girl wearing her county colours.....
