Sorry i cant seem to find the other thread.

Liam kearns is being tipped for the job and with the other names in the hat with him i`d say the job is his.

Myself think that bringing him back is a good thing because he done very good work from 99 to when he left in 05.

What do ye make of it?

Johnnie Kennedy and Kerins would be the top two there, I would imagine?

On another note I heard that one of the reasons that Mickey Ned left was because he has a job at Northampton as a catching/kicking coach. Anyone else heard this? Good luck to him btw.

SLR - what would you think is the prospect of appointing Donie Buckley - you mentioned him in a previous post.

In 2008 after the qualifier run, Donie Buckley refused to be manager and would only work as coach as long as Mickey Ned was there.

Doubt he will go alone now. The Football board can go outside the nominations list.

Recently I was in the Paddocks in UL having lunch and Mickey Ned was there with Conor O`Shea so I assume it would be Harlequins if anyone

correct. these are the 6 that have been short listed. county boars can still go outside of this if they see fit which has to be a strong possibility still.

one question i do have is why wasn`t there a 3 man committee set upto get a new manager like their is in the hurling set up?

i reckon the 6 are listed below in order of where they stand in d queue:

from the names below it seems kerins is most qualified but he wont even consider limerick until he is ruled out of galway job. not so sure that is a way to appoint any county manager but his cv cant be questioned to be fair.

next up is tom mcglinchy who has previous inter county experience and did good work with ballylanders.

johnny cummins seems to have learned a good trade with john evans in tipp and could be a welcome new voice but i could not coment on how good or bad he would be.

john brudair has done good work wit drom and would bring a good back up team and very professional set up. i think the players could buy into him cause his attention to detail is high by all accounts.

maurice horan was select or last year and 21 manager which prob wont do him any harm i think. could be a dark horse.

john kennedy did absolutely nothing on the national stage with kerry minors or 21`s and i think this would not be a good appointment.

Freudian slip? Maybe not but maybe some of the students of English could put us straight.
