I was inside in Quinns after the match and in fairness, the craic was 90! Tipp lads were on cloud 9 but the KK lads didnt seem too bothered at all.
The thing that stuck me most though was the amount of KK supporters that I spoke to who thought it was better for the game of hurling that they lost- very objective in fairness to them. I assume we all agree with that though?

I was there as well for an hour or so and got the same impression from the lads I spoke to.

Yeah most of the KK lads were fairly honest in their match reflections to be fair.
There were many a kk group in Quinns going equally as mental as the Tipp boys.Id hate to see them if they had won!
All jokin aside though,it was a tough evening for all Quinns staff, bouncers earned their wage on this particular night.TV3 could have made a better show filmed from Quinns rather than the Boozed up Irish Abroad thing on the box last night.

I`m a proud KK man and was there on Sunday, and I think I speak for all KK people when I say well done to Tipp, KK can have no complaints whatsoever, second best all over the field... KK hurlers owe us absolutly nothing, and we will be back - Watch out Tipp!

as alaways made the trek for the match. this time without junior cat who had sporting commitments elsewhere,a bad omen to begin with. I really cant agree with the sentiment that a team losing can possibly be good for hurling. Whats best for hurling is that the best team wins each year. I would contend that for the last 4 years that team was kilkenny and yes even last year. the best teams finish strong and put their opponents away. so while i would agree that sundays result was good for hurling it was not because kilkenny lost but rather because tipp won and won in the style of true champions they put KK away well in the closing stages. well done to tipp without a doubt the better team on the day. just an aside from another thread couldnt say a bad word about tipp fans on sunday, very humble in victory when it would have been very easy to be otherwise, as for when shefflin came off one tipp fan among the hundreds around me made a few comments but was well put back in his box by his own fans who were standing applauding at the time.
the general consensus among the feline siblings on monday morning was we had a lot worse noghts out in dublin after winning.
enjoy the buzz tipp i hope we dont take too long to take liam home again.
