Handball Alley
Eamon Law RIP
‘His life a beautiful memory, his passing a silent grief’
It is with deep regret and great shock that the handball fraternity has learned of the sudden passing of Eamon Law (Mullinavat, Kilkenny), at just 37 years of age.
He leaves behind a wife and two teenage children, and to them, we extend out heartfelt sympathies. They have lost a treasured father and husband, just as we have lost, not alone a handballer but a smiling non-confrontational loving person.
Eamon, the present PRO and past juvenile officer for his Mullinavat club, will be sadly missed by the local and national handball community. He was a talented handballer and collected a number of All-Ireland titles during the course of his career, including two minor doubles titles with DJ Carey, in both the 60 x 30 and 40 x 20 codes. Eamon also collected a 60 x 30 Intermediate title with clubman, Pierce O’Keefe, in addition to an All-Ireland Novice Singles title.
This year, Eamon partnered Eddie Burke in the 40 x 20 doubles, winning a Leinster title and narrowly losing out in the All-Ireland final to Tyrone. Eamon also partnered Ducksy Walsh in 60 x 30 in more recent times.
Ag imirt liathróid láimhe a bhí Eamon nuair a bhfuair sé bás, ag deanamh an rud a bhí nádúrtha do.
Tá leaba i measc na Naomh tuillte go maith aige.
