Anyone know who the big lad is?
Who He?
This mystery started on the renowned Luimneach Fans Mailing List. Anyone know who the players are, the clubs, the fixture, the venue, the final score and the name of the oil distributors advertising on the bill board? Information, please, to info@anfearrua.com.
Answer:
His name is John Kennedy, son of former Wicklow and Carnew legend Tommy Kennedy.
The game is a Wicklow Intermediate championship game between Carnew Emmets and Kiltegan. (Fair play to the KIltegan full-back for his spirited attempt at a block-down!) The venue is either Aughrim or Arklow.
John is a very skilful player and a handful for any full back. He is 25 years old and weighs approx. twenty-two stone. He also plays corner forward on Carnew senior footballers.
The lads and lassies on the Luimneach Mailing List can now relax...
