Cheryl Cole has been sensationally drop ped from the US version of X Factor and replaced by ____________cat doll singer Nicole Scherzinger.
Filming of the series began two weeks ago and it has not yet appeared on TV.
Insiders at the show, owned by Simon Cowell, said there were serious concerns that an American audience would not be able to understand her strong Geordie accent and that she had not developed a good on air rapport with fellow judge Paula Abdul.
On May 5, when her appointment was confirmed, Cheryl Cole (27 ) said she couldn’t wait to get started. Her mentor Simon Cowell said: “I’m thrilled for Cheryl. She is massively excited about this show.”
According to the US gossip website TMZ, Cheryl, who signed a £1.2m contract earlier this month, was informed that she was being sacked yesterday. The X factor team was unavailable for comment today.
TV exc utives in the UK now hope that she will return to the British version of the show, which she quit to start a new life in America.
However, she is reportedly so upset that she is now considering drop ping out of the talent show altogether. Members of Team Cheryl have told newspapers that she came to a mutual decision with producers to leave as she was so homesick in Los Angeles.

November 30 2010 - Cole`s representatives remain tight-lipped after it is reported the star is close to finalising a deal to be a panellist on the US X Factor.
It is reported she is on the verge of signing a one-year deal worth up to £3 million to join Simon Cowell as a judge.
Her spokesman writes on Twitter: ``Wonder how many times we will say `No comment` today.``
December 8 2010 - Piers Morgan backs Cole, saying she would be ``a big hit`` in the United States.
Morgan, who appeared as a judge on America`s Got Talent, said: ``I think she would be very successful. She`s got everything that you need in America.
``She is hard-working, she looks great, she is charismatic on screen and she knows her stuff. She won her spurs on X Factor so I think she will be a big hit there.``
April 26 2011 - Cowell tells the press he thinks Cole would ``do really well in America``.
He told the Deadline entertainment website: ``She`s a great judge. She`s smart. It`s just a hunch. If people take to her like the British public did, I think she`s going to do really well in America. And (TV network ) Fox was desperate to hire her.``
He said he showed a video clip of Cole to Fox exc utives two years ago and they were instantly impressed.
``They absolutely fell in love with her. In a way, the deal (to produce a US version of X Factor ) , it was almost conditional on Cheryl having the gig. They were desperate for her.``
May 5 2011 - Cowell`s production company ends months of speculation and confirms Cole has got the US job.
She said: ``I can`t wait to get started. I just can`t decide whether I am more excited to find and nurture the talent or for the unbelievable amount of amusement and entertainment I will have watching Simon doing everything and anything he can to beat me.
``He`s tried to beat me for three years in the UK, and hasn`t even come close. His ego must be so bruised. America is gonna love this.``
May 26 2011 - It is reported Cole has left the show and will be replaced by ex____________-cat Doll Nicole Scherzinger.

Cole not intelligent, says Cowell biographer
Simon Cowell's unauthorised biographer Tom Bower has said that Cheryl Cole is "not very intelligent".
The Intimate Life of Simon Cowell writer explained how he briefly spent time with the Parachute singer on The X-Factor USA.
Speaking to the Metro newspaper he said: "I was sitting next to Simon the whole time during The X Factor US last year and I immediately knew that Cheryl Cole wasn't working.
"I'd sit with Cheryl at mealtimes and, in my opinion, her real problem is she's not very intelligent."
Bower continued to explain that host Steve Jones was "even worse" than Cole adding: "I flew with him (Cowell) from LA to New York and even before that he'd asked me what I thought about her and I'd said, 'She's not working and Steve Jones is even worse.'
"He was determined to make it work, but I had my doubts."
