has he said hes looking for the "right" kind off investor or is he just holding on for big money?

I think some of the lads on this board here have more of a clue than the lads on the Everton board!

I find it hard to dislike Kenwright though, when he took over at Everton thery were in a very bad place, so many mistakes had been made since the glory days of 84-87, Colin Harvey is an Everton legend but should never really have got the managers job after Kendalls departure, the appointment of Mike Walker, the appointment of Howard Kendall for a third time, the situation that led to Joe Rolye walking away, persisting with Walter Smith for so long.

Everton were still competing well with the likes of United, Liverpool and Arsenal just before the dawn of the Premiership, and should have been in a great position to capitalise on the extra money in the game, but so many mistakes were made at board level and in the transfer market, that the club were soon struggling to retain their top flight status.

It has taken Kenwright and his appointment of David Moyes to restore some dignity and pride to the club. Unfortunately, Kenwright has now brought the club has far as he can take it...In recent years Spurs and Man City have overtaken Everton, while the nearly every other club in the Premiership seem to be able to compete better in the transfer market, the club is going stagnant again and if new investment doesn`t arrive very soon, then the only way is down once more.

ah its a balls in fairness.bill has been saying for a few years now that he has no money and is gone as far as he can go.if the tesco stadium went ahead  (i was one that didnt want to see them move out off goodison ) it would be a lot easier to get investment into the club.
when it was going to go ahead there was intrest.seem to be the only way forward i think.maybe im wrong.any opinions?

Think the Kirkby move is dead in the water, planning refused and I`m glad. Ideal situation would obviously be to refurbish Goodison but that seems to have been dismissed out of hand by the board as well.

Unfortunately, the Stadium issue seems to be the one major obstacle to attracting new investment, can`t understand it myself really, Liverpool have managed it and they need to refurbish / build also.

I think the board are making too big an issue over the Stadium, if investment in the squad isn`t made soon, they won`t have to worry about the Stadium issue, as Everton will be playing in the Championship.

im honestly not looking to have a go at Bill as i do think he`a a proper Everton fan but all the pride at the club is really because of Moyes and nobody else. The board as a whole havent put a penny into the club in 5/6 years now, True Blue Holdings was actually dissolved 7 years ago so really the club is a real state of financial limbo, the Bear Sterns loan repayments are hanging like a noose and thats my issue with the board. I honestly think they dont know what the next step is and are hoping for a billionaire to appear which is probably unlikely to happen in all honesty

your last point is the most important AFM&B and spot on, the sad thing is if Moyes isnt backed then you couldnt blame him for leaving if he always has to sell first before he can buy and who knows where we would end up without him.

The failure to secure Kings Dock all those years ago was the biggest error on this boards behalf and will always hang over them too.

It`s sadly inevitable  that Moyes will leave if things continue as they are, his loyalty has been pushed to the limits already, there was a point there last season when I really did think he was going to walk away, and I would have found it hard to blame him.

Back to the Stadium issue, I see season ticket sales are over 3000 down on last year, it`s possible that some supporters have left it late to renew, or the recession might be a factor, but I think disillusionment may be the main reason though.

yep think disillusionment is a big thing, people know aswell they can pick and choose the big games to go to and will always get a ticket i suppose. If average attendance next season drop s to around 33,000 thats a fair amount of money down every week compared to the last few seasons, slippery slope financially.

Perhaps this is naivety on my part, but why can`t Everton and Liverpool join forces and build a spanking new stadium in Stanley Park?

You`d imagine that it would be the sensible option for both clubs but Stadium sharing has never really been embraced in England. I think Everton have been slightly more open to the idea, but Liverpool have always ruled it out. Don`t think either sets of fans would be much in favour of it either.

we wouldnt have the money to contribute either to be honest, the North West Development Agency were always in favour of it and were prepared to grant heavily towards it, but with both clubs expected to contribute a sizeable sum also, something that would be a serious stumbling block even if agreement was ever reached between the clubs.

Its depressing alright, checking the evertonfc.co.uk website and no speculation. Good to see Coleman coming on, the mcgeady/billy swop sounds interesting. Looks like selling a player or two will be necessary to buy players. Still a few weeks to go so fingers crossed. Hopefully an investor can come in with dosh. My fear would be that Moyes gets ______-ed off an leaves next season. ?

Great to see we have gathered a small band of toffees on this thread, maybe if we are left in peace we can keep it runnig thru the season to discuss games, espacially when the gAA is finished, lets avoid the use of the word `WE` as i know it upsets certian posters that irishmen associate themselves that closely with UK clubs, Toffees Abu!

its kind of sad really that somebody who went to such an effort to write a story cannot just deal with facts and instead is either a )  misinformed on issues or b )  just makes stuff up to suit the point.
