Dunshaughlin GAA were delighted to receive Leinster GAA Club Website of the Year 2011.
The club was keen to promote an online brand to complement tremendous strides that have been made on and off the pitch in recent years under the progressive Chairmanship of Jim Smith.
Last year the club opened an Astro turf facility and later this year will open a new full sized All Weather sand based pitch. On the field the club was desperately unlucky not to capture the Meath Senior Championship losing to Summerhill in the final only after extra time in a replay. Meanwhile the numbers turning out for the juvenile section of the club Dunshaughlin na nOg continue to flourish.
www.dunshaughlingaa.com
was launched in September 2011 having enlisted the services of IDEA a Dublin based Web Design company owned by Dunshaughlin resident Ciaran Flanagan to design and host the site. Once designed the site content has been completely managed by webmasters Aidan McHugh and Fearghal Gogan. A key element of www.dunshaughlingaa.com are the plugins to our online Lotto and Online Membership facilities provided by myclubfinances.com, facilities that are providing recurring revenue to the club.
Each county in Leinster put forward five club websites that would be eligible to receive the award. Leinster Council then inpected each site and monitored them over a period of time. John Cotter Commercial and Marketing Manager of Leinster Council listed the following reasons why www.dunshaughlingaa.com came out on top
· Well designed site
· Shows high level of commitment by webmasters Fearghal and Aidan
· Substantial in terms of breadth of content
· Attractive presentation, lively, colourful, appealing
· Kept up to date
· Busy home page but well brought together and easily read.
· Easily navigated
· Lots of good information
· Membership and Club Lotto Integrated
· Good use of social media plugins for Facebook and Twitter
· Innovative ideas such as the Amber Pages
· Shows club pride and presents the club in a very positive, progressive fashion
· Showcases the social/community aspects of the club as well as coaching and games involvement
· Good photo galleries social and teams

that is bull
the award should be given to aclub who develop their OWN website
and not giving it to some IT company to develop because the club has money to spend
