Most natural leader leader on the team in my view. Glad to see him getting it back. In reality, Stephen Molumphy may struggle to get his place this year

Molumphy always looked better with the Marquee names than without them

Great choice. Surprised he hasnt had it for the last couple of years. Was Molumphy last year`s captain? What a terrible choice. Have absolutely no mass in him.

Great choice think he was captain in 2007 when i think we played our best hurling and probally the year we should have bagged the big one this was the year we were caught by limerick after leathering them in munster we played a number of matches in quick succession and it was felt by many we were \\\\\\\\\\ed tired for that faitfull semi final.
Dont agree at all the Molumphy is slipping yes he did not have a great 2011 but he had many great days in the past a vital cog in our set up as far as im concerned, they tell me he is flying in training and i have a lot of confidience in him.
While i am happy with brick as captain as i dont believe it puts any extra pressure on him, he is a team player and he will never let you down.
Shane O Sullivan would be my second choice a player i like a lot and still improving.

Limerick were well beaten in the end of that Munster final but if you have ever looked back on the game, they were unlucky not to have scored a couple of early goals in that game. Lessons we did not heed for the semi final. Limerick were the better team and well deserving of their win in the semi. The tiredness thing is a load of balls.

With regards to Molumphy. I agree that there is more in him. I think he suffered more under Davy`s style than most. When he first came in he was a great man for a score, nicking a goal but more importantly setting up scores.
Under Davy his hurling was almost non exsistant. He became a mullocker and started looking for frees by runni g into his man and got dragged down or dragged down. He seemed to follow these instructions to the letter of the law. Maybe his army background  (followng orders )  was the cause of that. He did the same thing ad nauseum.

Saying that you "leathered" Limerick in the Munster final that year is a bit of a diversion from the reality. From what I remember Limerick were well in it until the last few minutes when a few late goals put a gloss on the final score?

Thats true. The 9 point winning margin was flattering. Very little between the teams for most of that game

I think Kevin Tobin brought it back to a point on 59 mins 30 seconds or something like that. There were probably 4 scores after that, Big Dans two goals and two points.

Sometimes I wonder would we have been better off winning Munster and losing to Waterford in the Semi Final.

It was an easy way out for the players by saying that having to play for 2 weeks previous to the semi final ruined them and not accept that it affected Limerick in the Munster final. After all Limerick had played 3 matches against Tipp including extra time twice so that excuse can work both ways

Of course it works both ways, if its true. There is no doubt in my mind that playing Cork the previous 2 Sundays took its toll on Waterford, just as the matches v Tipp affected Limerick before the Munster final. Some of the Waterford players have gone on record to say that they were \\\\\\\\\\ed during the week leading up to the semi final. But thats not an excuse for the defeat, Waterford were beaten by the better team on the day. There usually isnt much between Waterford and Limerick in big matches, can go either way.

Agree 100%. In relation to 07, makes no difference who won that semi anyway. Unfortunately, those who would not be beaten were already in the final

Good choice-leads by example and will have the respect of the rest of the panel-always a good thing when there`s new management on board.
