Limerick FC are delighted to announce the arrival of two CSKA Moscow players to Ireland for trials with Limerick FC. The players were welcomed at Shannon Airport on Sunday evening by Pat O`Sullivan, Chairman. Both are expected to play some part of the game with Sligo Rovers at Terryland Park, Galway, on Monday 13 February (kick-off 7:45pm ) and to train with the team on Wednesday.
Lubos Kaluda is a 24-year-old Czech International midfielder and has been with CSKA Moscow since 2008.
Dawid Janczyk is a 24-year-old Polish International striker who has been with CSKA Moscow since 2007.
Both players were on loan last season to PFC Oleksandriya (Ukraine ) .
Is money bags firing money at the soccer team now aswell?
And a 1st division league of Ireland club give a Polish and a Czech international a trial. Just in case they dont match up to the level of the lads from Garryowen and Carew Park, they need to trial them first!!!!!!

They`ll get a fair trial like all the other local lads and be found guilty, allegedly.

Judge: Structures in place for CSKA loan deal
By Andrew Cunneen
News broke last night of two potential loan signings for Limerick FC. signings that if completed, will raise eyebrows around the Airtricity League. Dawid Janczyk and Lubos Kalouda have arrived in Limerick ahead of a trial period with the club. Extratime.ie caught up with club general manager Kieran Judge, as he shed some light on the potential transfer coup.
“As a growing club, we have managed to open up an awful lot of links in the past three years. We regularly attend summits with clubs from all over Europe and have gained contacts in the English Premier League, Russia and the Netherlands to name a few. “
Speculation arose as to whether or not this appeared a publicity stunt, but Kieran Judge confirmed otherwise. “The structures for a loan deal are in place, yes. Pending club approval both can be signed. It’s up to us really, once we have a look at them. They will take part in a friendly tonight, and will train with the club during the week, so we can monitor them.”
The players in question, Janczyk and Kalouda are recipients of international acclaim, with the former racking up five international caps for the Polish senior team. Kalouda himself cost CSKA Moscow 5.18 million euro when he signed from FC Brno in 2008.
“These players knew about Limerick before they came, it’s no surprise to the players themselves. “
It’s “too early to comment” on whether or not an extension would be possible if Premier Division status was obtained at the end of the season, but the club have not denied it.
When asked if this was the end of the transfer activity regarding Limerick for the upcoming season, Judge gave a suggestive laugh, and simply answered “No”.

One thing is for sure, Limerick will be back in top flight next year and then who knows, soccer is huge in Limerick and if they get behind the LOI side they could attract big crowds to the markets field. I notice that Limerick fc are sponsoring Hyde Rangers shirts and possibly other clubs also, this seems to be a good move in improving public relations in an area that has been suspicious of Limerick fc taking the best players from junior soccer. Jackman park is a kip and the sooner they are out of there the better.
Whatever about these foreign lads i think Limerick showed their ambition when they signed Gamble and Behan last season, i reckon they will win the league comfortably this year.

He has a few bob but I`m not so sure if he has the kind of dosh to pay these Russian lads if they are cracked up to be as good as made out in reports.
Sure a bit of hype and publicity is no harm at least it`s something positive coming out of Limerick

If they are signing players of this supposed calibre, then they obviously want to bring European Football back to Limerick.
What became of Danny Drew. His name was everywhere for a while and then he drifted away. Who was he??
Pat O`Sullivan actually made a substantial donation to Ballylanders Underage GAA a couple of years ago as well.

This man Pat O Sullivan is a very honourable person and I can vouch for that. His commitment is long term and he has a genuine objective of making Limerick FC a peoples team again. So I for one hopes he succeeds.

I am well aware of his donation to his former parish but he would not be the only one to contribute in such a manner and maybe more considering all the man and woman hours that individuals have put into clubs voluntarily. I`m sure you have done your bit as well as the rest of us !

Luboš Kaloudas Wikipedia entry shows him playing just 5 times for CSKA since 2008. Since then, he`s been loaned out to Sparta Prague (15 appearance in 2009-2010 ) , Russian second tier side Volgar Gazprom (7 appearance in 2010 ) and Ukrainian third tier side PFC Oleksandria (no appearances listed for 2011 ) .
Dawid Janczyk played 42 times for Legia Warsaw as a teenager, 14 times for CSKA after he was transferred in 2007 but has since been loaned out to Belgian first tier sides Lokeren (31 appearances in 2009-2010 ) and Beerschot (11 appearances in 2010 ) , Polish top tier side Korona Kielce (7 appearances in 2011 ) and Ukrainian third tier side PFC Oleksandria (no appearances listed for 2011 ) .

Ya, I was looking at the Wikipedia pages.
Still though, any former 5 million player in the UK wouldnt dream of coming to Limerick at 24.

Hours are one thing, and a lot of people put them in voluntarily in charge of teams, as officers etc. I couldnt even quantify the endless hours the club history I did took, but one thing is for sure it was only a tiny fraction in comparison to someone the hours that others would have given in a lifetime training teams, as officers etc.
However hard cash is something that will always be welcomed in clubs, when donated, because volunteers will always be found, but hard cash wont always land on the table . No matter how much work anyone has done as a volunteer in a club, they would have to take their hat off to the man who produces hard cash out of his pocket, no strings attached for the well being of the club.

No. Retired from writing books. The 2.5kg Galbally history brought my brief sojourn writing books to an end.
Is Pat Sullivan the same Pat Sullivan of Foynes that was once involved in Limerick Ladies football back in the 1980s

These look like two donkeys to me.Word is they have been peddled all over Europe looking for a club foolish enough to take them on.
Fair play to Pat O Sullivan but imo his money could be spent a lot more wisely.Limerick have a very good squad without these two and their addition will only lead to dis-harmony within the club.
I hear that the sales of wodka are about to climb very steeply in Limerick city....
