Again he puts forward the motion, that managers are the same as players, you can only manage your own club, and you can only manage your own county. He also tells a story about Brian Cody being found sweeping out the Kilkenny dressing room, and saying `Why wouldn`t I sweep out the room`.

I am beginning to think that if the GAA are really serious about stopping payments to managers then they will table  the Brolly motion. End of Story. However I dont think the GAA are serious about stopping payments to managers, and therefore we wont ever see the Brolly motion.

I think you`re right. They are not serious about it.

I know it irks some people about how Kilkenny set an example  (in hurling standards )  both on the playing field and in their set-up at all levels in the county.

But it`s true and fair play to them. There are probably other counties of whom you could say the same, but Kilkenny are the most prominent.

To be fair, I doubt Cork county teams are forking out the bobs either above the normal expenses  (to which any manager is rightly entitled ) .

It strikes me sometimes that Cody deliberately goes out of his way to annoy the people looking for payment. Sweeping out the changing area is a good example. He gave the money from his book to his club James Stephens.
