Good point rr, I just copied out the fixtures from the Clare People where Division 2 is described as " Clare Cup Division 2 ", but I think you're right about the format.
Division 2, I presume are Intermediate league so.

Same format as last year, they've just changed the name of the groups. Top 2 in Div1A and top team in Div1B & Div2 in semis.

There seems to be some confusion out there,
the usually excellent sixmilebridgegaa.com site has the Div 2 game, between the Bridge and Crusheen second teams, down as being in the Intermediate League competition.

bp, The Bridge website refers to the league that our intermediate team plays in as Intermediate league .. It just avoids confusion for supporters .. Apologies if its misleading .
So we have:
Seniors = Senior League
Intermediates = Intermediate League
Junior A= Junior A League

Why don't they just do what they have done with the football leagues and make it 7 or 8 straight divisions with top two going up and bottom two going down. Or maybe one up one down and second bottom plays loser in league final in a play-off? This messing around with teams from the third division 2 having a chance at winning it is a bit strange.

I strolled up to eire Og Sunday evening to watch the senior team play Cratloe,

Both teams were missing a good few I was told but twas a nice game of hurling.

How will Eire Og go this year as a Senior team?

Cratloe must have been weak without Collins, McGrath, McInerney, and Markham.
Eire Og should be beating them.

Eire Og will do OK. Underage talent is coming through with players on Clare minor/21 in the last few years. Danny Russell is a key though, if he plays well it frees up so much for those around him.

Its hard to call this group.I think Whitegate is the first game which will help as they will get to see how the other two are shaping up. Their game against the Mills could decide who comes out of that group. The Mills are always a tough draw and would fancy their chances.
Ballyea are young and talented. They were very unlucky with the draw last year. If Eire Og can stop Tony Kelly then that game could go either way. Whitegate will struggle in this group.

They are too strong for intermediate and ineptitude has kept them down until now. They certainly strengthen the senior championship, and I for one am happy to see them back.

All true hurling followers in the county should be happy to see Éire Óg back up senior, Clare hurling needs the game to be strong in the urban areas and hurling in the town was at a disadvantage while they were down in Intermediate,
hopefully the hurling sides in Shannon and St.Josephs can fend off the pressure from their footballing counterparts.

Not sure how odds have changed, but Eire Óg were 16/1 for senior championship this year, shorter odds than Kilmaly which is rather strange

Strange one alright that Eire Og would be seen as lower odds than Kilmaley. Fergus Flynn or Barry Nugent weren't playing last Sunday. Are they still playing ? Nugent can't be that old.

Who's over Eire Og?

Couldn't agree with Éire Óg being a shorter price myself,
I'm sure if you shop around you'll find different odds out there
