we were well beaten by broadford.. started ok but they pulled away. missin 4 or 5 but still not good enough.. ballyea must have sobered up in second half to win that..
tones going poor after a good start. good win for the mills too and another win for the townies. 1b is a fair close division

result from 1B game played tonight.

o c mills 2.21
kilmaley 2.17

half time score was 1.15 to 6 in favour of mills men. kilmaley upped there game in the second half with diarmuid mc mahon and conor neylon scoring the goals and doing damage up front and john cabey hitting the frees.. mean while in the backs colin lynch was wing back and had a great game and so did talty corner back and as did the full back think the name was cahill. bryan mc mahon was back with kilmaley too tongiht and done well when introduced...kilmaley had no daire kean btw.

then for the mills o donovan at full back had a fine pat donellan was centre back but mcmahon done well on him. they had no bryan donellan who was ruled out with injury. lyons at midfield was good too for the mills chipped in with a few scores..conor cooney was playing centre forward not effective there at all.The full forward line for the mills was good with flathery wearing 14 getting the first goal after a great crossfield ball from donnelan and number 13 mckeogh getting the second gary neville was the other corner who scored a few points from play and frees. over all an enjoyable game with the best team on the day coming out on top.

It certainly is not. And McGrath was not playing for Cratloe. Was anyone at this game with a quick report?

Is that the county board are bringing them forward from Saturday, or its up to the clubs to bring them forward and only occurs if both clubs agree.

Where are the Clare lads off to?

We were missing a good few against Cratloe but performed poorly anyway - thats the report i got. From speaking with the lads at home we werfe under a lot of pressure up the field and that left the backs with loads to do.

The seconds beat Ennistymon by 3. A lot of lads would have been playing in both games. Thats 4 on the bounce!

matches down for next saturday .up to clubs to bring them forward by mutual agreement., i think clare team going away friday nite so thursday only alternative to play games.

also this is round 7 and players on county panel will not be available to clubs in rd 8 and 9.

as where they going next week end players have not been told yet and probably will not be told until they assemble next weekend.
it would be pity players not available for remainder cup games as group 1A AND 1B very delicately poised.

Cratloe were missing 7 off the team that played the bridge in the semi last year. also most of the team were playing there 2nd game of the weekend with 4 of the team playing their 3rd game in 3 days. Cratloe got off to a good start leading 2-6 to 2 pts at half time. 2 quick goals after half time finished the game as a contest. Welcome return for Gearoid Considine who came off the bench for Cratloe scoring 2-1 and had a hand in the two other goals.

Where the hell would we be supposed to bring them forward to?

Most clubs have lads away during the week right now, even friday evening would be a struggle and clubs havent been informed of anything as yet.

At what stage are the county players being pulled, in fairness to the seniors they've been ok to release players so far, I've always felt 3 weeks out is fair enough.

Apparently players were asked to inform their clubs they were going and ask their clubs to rearrange games? As tone said where are u supposed to move them too? Thursday or Monday only options and thats not easy with lads away. Say good bye to County players between now and 18th June when they return to Clubs for games on 23rd.

what happens as is the case already when a club that has no player on the revered county panel does not want to move a game and the club they play has. This is already the case with a game in 1B

One would suggest a lot of raised voices especially as one has mentioned earlier the leagues are belanced nicely with every game meaningful for promotion, relegation and qualification.

What of Monday night for the games or is there a hush hush game being arranged?

The Masters fixture list was made up for a reason.

While I would have no problem with games being moved if both clubs agree, I would not be in favour of switching them as 'fixtures'.

Most/all clubs now have lads working away, not so simple to get back or take time off work anymore.

On the outside looking in at this a bit so can understand why clubs want their county players but at the end of the day, we're under 4 weeks away from the Waterford game and win that, we're back in a Munster Final. Surely that has to take precedence here?

I think that it is understandanble that the county players are focusing now on the Waterford game.
After six rounds I believe that they have been available to the clubs for all games so far. I do not remember this much availability in previous years.
Some are more affected than others by this (Cratloe and Clonlara immediately come to mind) but this does give all teams a chance to look at some other players in the run up.
Positions in the league are delicately poised for some but from reading here clubs were aware that players would be pulled. It has been excellent to have league games every weekend. I think in this situation its play without the Clare lads or sit at home on weekend and complain that you are getting no hurling. Most club players will be happy to play without the Clare lads.
With regard to refixing games both must agree and really if clubs have lads away during the week they shouldn't be forced to switch or be looked upon poorly for not switching. Rearranging work is much more difficult now and lads need to protect their jobs. If a club with no county player refuses to move it for competitive reasons then thats their business but in my opinion thats the luck of the draw in the fixtures listing.

im with tone on this.clubs are given a masters fixtures list which they work around. with work, college and dual club committments this can be hard enough without late switches. clubs with a lot of county players are going to suffer granted but clubs have had to suffer like this for years and have not stood up to the county board. its up t clubs to re arrange but they fixed for saturday and unless they agree its saturday they should be played

Fair enough, but the master fixtures list has been adhered to so far, the Waterford game is on the 17th of June so nobody would have expected their county player for the last two rounds anyway. Davy and the senior management have made plans for going away with the squad this weekend ( which is not unreasonable ) and the clubs are free to bring the games forward if it suits both parties in the fixture, I know this poses difficulties with work/college etc. - but at the same time the clubs have had their players much more this year than any other league year, and a third weekend for the county management to prepare for Waterford is hardly too much to ask for imo.

Funny, I thought the same.

Started like BP was disagreeing but it more or less said same as us.

It's probably just that we're not used to people agreeing on this site
