Once again TG4 has shown that it is the countries leading broadcaster. Breaking Bad starts tomorrow night on TG4. For anyone who hasn't seen it or heard of it, try and get to see it. It is one of the best tv shows ever.

Couldn't get into breaking bad. Watched a series and a half to give it a go and ended up giving up. Found every scene drawn out, poorly written, and thought the young druggy character was just annoying. I make the point purely as I know how unusual it is to not like this series after loving the wire, sopranos, sons, mad men and all the usual stuff. Anyone else not get it?

What was there to ``not get `` ID? You probably mean you just didn`t enjoy it? I thought the characters and writing was top class, the cop, son.partner and wife, , all strong characters

Yeah I didn't enjoy it. From the start. I only gave it so long as from reading the reviews and how people compared it to the other series I like I felt as if I should like it. I liked the premise of the show but it just didn't work for me overall.

Fantastic show. I'd watched all the episodes of House and Dexter that were available, and was initally looking for something to plug the gap until the new series were broadcast in America. I started watching Breaking Bad, and the game changed. By far the most compelling television I've ever watched. The season 4 finale was gripping. It's so difficult to think of Bryan Cranston as "Hal from Malcolm" now, he's sensational in this. If any budding television directors want to look at how a show should be made, they could do a lot worse than watch Breaking Bad. Currently waiting patiently for season 5!

Brilliant show and the fourth season was the best so far. Fair play to TG4 (yet again).

I don't think it is bad ID - its very well made tbf - but I could probably name a couple of dozen tv shows I found more compelling. Can't really explain why though.

Always found the most enjoyable thing about the programme was that Mexican junkie chick that Jessie was dating...

Great series ,could never be made in Ireland though, not enough science teachers, apparently, so much for too many cooks!

Inglis, totally agree with you...have watched most of the other series you mentioned and enjoyed them. I like the main character obviously but other than that find it hard to like many of the other ones. Am starting third series now and am pretty much continuing coz I've come this far!! I do like the way at the start of some episodes it shows footage from stuff that will happen in the future and then whatever suspicion you had is quashed by the end of the episode but I just haven't taken to it!!

Different strokes for different folks I guess...

Yahoo! I'm not going crazy so. Was worth posting my thoughts to find that out cause I was starting to get worried. It's not awful or anything just it's nowhere near the dramas that it gets compared to. Brian Canston is good in it. Other than that I can take it or leave it.

Didn't catch it either was watching the Europa lge games, but will catch up on either ^ or one of the many sites u can get with all episodes of every series. No idea why anyone buys boxsets or waits for weekly shows anymore.

I love the US version of Shameless, (some hate it) I watched the entire 2nd series over the last wk, while RTE 2 are on episode 2 or 3 of it tonight.
