That was a very tired looking Barca out there tonight; Real wouldn't have been flattered by a three goal margin.
Its not often you see all three of Xavi, Iniesta, and Messi looking flat, and devoid of drive, all at the same time, but so it looked, tonight.

Roberto Di Matteo might just have been licking his lips, in anticipation of Tuesday's return Champions League leg.
Barca surely will be able to lift themselves, to some degree, and score at least one or two goals.
But Chelsea rested many of their key players, today.
And Barca didn't.

Great winner by Ronaldo, but when you see him actually pointing to Ozil where to put the ball, and Barca defenders seem powerless to counteract it, you got to worry about Barca's prospects

Unable to watch the game. Delighted to see the result and even happier to see Ronaldo hit the winner. Hala Madrid!!

Barca wil be licking their wounds after the 2 defeats. Loosing to Franco's 11 will make them hungry for Chelsea.

You must have taken your eye off the ball in the last few weeks regarding the La Liga table. If Barca had of won last night they would have went level with (Edit: - 1 point behind) Madrid at the top.
A Barca win could have been a fatal blow to Madrids title hopes as they have been dropping a lot of points of late.
As it tured out Madrid roundly beat Barca on their home patch and it could be a fatal blow to Barca's season.

Tired body and minds now have to be lifted for the Chelsea game.

Fascinating game - Mourinho is a great manager and got it spot on last night, though still Barca had 2 good 1 on 1s that were missed. Other than that, Real were comfortable and Ronaldo produced the goods - played for the team instead of trying all these pointless flicks and was justly rewarded with his goal. How Barca have missed David Villa - no one to lead the line and play on the shoulders of the centre halves - they essentially went out and played 4-6-0. They were very sloppy at times and are nowhere near the team they were last year. They now have no recognised striker with the departures over the years of Ibrahimovic and Eto and the injury to Villa. And by God has it cost them.
Still though you'd fancy them to put Chelsea to the sword and make the Champions League Final - something that Real might well struggle to do.

Funny, that I was thinking of the headline about the general disapproval with the King's big-game hunting, yesterday, and I was wondering did last night victory for 'the Royalists', in anyway, compensate?

Ribery and Robben, - and perhaps a newly resurgent Philip Lahm, - should help Bayern make their home final, despite Real looking considerably more impressive last night.
I think it was more of a case of them getting more 'up' for the game against Barca than they will be able to do against Bayern.

If Barca fail to score in the first 20 minutes on Tuesday, I can see Chelsea going on to win the tie

I would not agree jim. I think Real will be more up for this game now that they have effectively won the league. A great chance for a double has opened up for them.
Throw in the fact that Bayern has Badstuber playing for them and they are ripe for a picking. He is a very poor player at the back for Munich and Germany.

Is Badtsuber any worse than Pepe. All the talk about Bayerns defence not being great but Reals isnt exactly brilliant either.

Certainly Real won't need to have an eye on the weekend when they're playing Bayern, Keano, but I still think those three players I've mentioned, plus Gomes, of course, to finish one or more of the chances they create for him, will see Bayern home

With Real being the home team and needing a goal you would expect Bayern to have to do more defending. In which case there is greater oppertunity for a limited Badstuber to be found wanting than say Pepe.

guardiola got it wrong not starting alexi sanches. as someone already said madrid came to do a job and done it.barca had nobody to pull madrid's rear guard out of position.it was wet and windy and a tough night to play football on the deck which also helped madrid.it is amazing to think madrid as possible domestic and european champions with a back four of arbeloa, ramos, pepe and concetrao..

Decent game, no doubt Barca are the better team but their strength in depth is not what it used to be. Like last week in the CL, when you see the likes of Xavi coming off, its not good. Surprised Barca let it slip after getting back level, great finish from Ronaldo but Mascherano is not a centre half and was badly caught out.

Never been a huge fan of watching Mourinhos teams but they tend to be clinical and get the job done. Some of the theatrics there last night were terrible, Ronaldo in particular. Ref was also way too fussy, didn't let the game flow.
