they should be fairly good im going to give a stab at a team (to get abit of debate going..
fahy,
browne, mcinerney,flanagan,
morey,o connor, o hallaran,
kelly,galvin,
keane,fitzgibbon,duggan,
mcinerney, mcrath, cunningham.
i think people might be alittle surprised at fitzgibbons inclusion.(due to his lack of involvement with underage teams to now) but he was excellent for crusheen last year in most cases beating his man. including the na piarsaigh centre back who was on last years limerick u21 team.. he got 4 points that day and seemed to score everyday he went out. (usually at least 2 points if not more)the other big issue was full back.. killian ryan, o hallaran and flanagan are contenders here but mcinerney has been the one playing challenges.(at full back).
anyway theres great options in ryan, boyce, golden, mcguane, o neill, collins, shanahan, o connell and o hallaran(davy)
what do people think?

Some panel of players all right. Though one thing I've learned over the years is that having a panel as good as that doesn't guarantee anything. With so many on the senior panel it'll be next to impossible to get them together collectively.

Not sure who you have in goal? As far as i know Andrew Fahy is overage. That leaves Ronan Taffe and i believe he will take the number 1 shirt.
McInerney is a serious yoke in my view and they have been trying him at 3. Not sure if that is his best position but they need someone for that role and he is being tried there.
Doubtful whether my own club man will make that side. Jamie is as honest and tough as they come but he is up against lads like Conor Ryan, Shane Golden, Tots O'Connell, Podge Collins for the place in your team alone.
It will be a very difficult under 21 side to make on paper. Youn Niall O'Connor from Newmarket is reported to be flying it at the moment and certain lads that wouldnt even have been heard at minor for the county will all be pushing hard to make this 21 side - take Alan O'Neill from Josephs as an example, he was serious for them this year in the 21 B.
Its a star-studded panel but that counts for little and can often be a negative in that the seniors progression may impact on the 21s preparation.
The corresponding minor side bowed out to a second half surge from Waterford in the park. Im sure the likes of McGrath & Patch O'Connor will be hellbent on making a good stab at Munster with this side but as N16 rightly points out - the panel named is irrelevant, its all on the day.

i disagree about fitzgibbon.. he was better than all and in some cases much better, than all those players you mention in county championship.. he did not figure in last two minor sides.. reputation should not guarantee you a place.thats why he is being somewhat disregarded. i hope he is getting a decent run.. btw 11 of that team are underage again next year (fitzgibbon being one..) throw in boyce, o connells x2, o hallaran(davy), shanahan and a couple of this years minor team and they should be serious again.

2 years in a row now Fitzgibbon has been held and outplayed by Ruairi MacNamara from Clooney Quin. I can't see him making it.
David McInerney is a fine hurler. I haven't seen him play full back but I would fear that he is not a man marker.
Aaron Cunningham ticks all the boxes for me and I expect him to have a long, prominent intercounty career.

That is a seriously good full forward line for under 21 level with Davy O Halloran ready and waiting on the bench.
Mc Grath will create havoc at under 21 this year. i really think he has bloomed into a brilliant senior intercounty hurlers that would at least make any panel in the country

i think conor mcgrath would make any senior intercounty team in ireland. in fact, i think clare now have 3 forwards who would be there or thereabouts on any team.(mcgrath, conlon and honan)

McInerney is a listener, he'll do what you tell him. He may not have the know-how of how to play full back but if you tell him to stick tight, he'll do exactly that. He's a fine player with excellent ability and can only improve.
I think they have a fine panel, with good choices in every line. They'll do well in Muster and hopefully go further!

galway would be my favs for ai..(at this grade) could be wrong but i think donoghue, burke and glynn are the only ones overage from last year. last years minors like brehony, mahoney and glynn not to mention joseph cooney and daithi burke who would have been full back last year if he made himself available.. i think all the munster teams will be strong this year.. limerick have also something like 12 or 13 from last years team.

Only 5 or 6 of that team will make the U21 team this year. Goes to show how big the step up is and how many lads have come into it from the minor teams of the last 2 years.

A possible clare starting 15 for championship could be.
not a bad team in my eyes could go all the way with a bit of luck.
1.ronan taaffe (tubber)
2.paul flanagan (ballyea)
3.david mcinerney (tulla)
4.colin mcguane (kilmaley)
5.seadna morey (sixmilebridge)
6.patrick o connor (tubber)
7.stephen o halloran (clarecastle)
8.colm galvin (clonlara)
9.tony kelly (ballyea)
10.cathal mcinerney (cratloe)
11.Daire keane (kilmaley)
12.peter duggan (clooney quin)
13.cathal o conell (clonlara)
14.conor mcgrath (cratloe)
15.aaron cunningham (wolf tones)

a very good team.. i think jack browne will make it..(he looks a great corner back) if he is in the forwards, cathal minerney is much better in the corner.. i also think davy o hallaran, podge collins or shane golden will make this team before cathal o connell. the only place for golden is midfield which means we would have a forward line of
duggan, keane,galvin,
mcineney,mcgrath,cunningham.
young niall o connor from newmarket is meant to be hurling up a storm. remember there is also gudgie o connell and enda boyce. not to mention killian ryan and conor ryan.(who were both on the team last year. and will probably struggle to get their place this year). all in all it seems to be an extremely strong panel..

Don't think Shane Golden has much of a chance of getting near the team. Podge Collins worth a go there Id say

I went down to meelick last night good game pitch was in good nick and no rain so had the makings for a good game.
Half time score was Limerick 1.09 clare 4.04
limerick had the aid of the wind in the first half but didn't make much use of it.
The goal scorers for clare in the first half were peter duggan (penalty) conor mcgrath (2) colm galvin (1) from long range. clare should have had alot more scores on the board in the first half alone missed 2 or 3 more goal chances and had alot of harmless wides.
second half then they opened limerick up with the goal coming from podge collins.. good work out for clare they look to me to have a fine team. had there full team bar 3 or 4 injured players where as limerick where missing all there senior players due to playing dublin today.
final score was clare 5.13 limerick 2.16
clare team was
1.niall woods (newmarket)
2.Hualie Vaughan (inagh/mona)
3.david mcinerney (tulla)
4.killian ryan (ruan)
5.killian fennessey (clonlara)
6.conor ryan (cratloe)
7.stephen o hollaran (clarecastle)
8.colm galvin (clonlara)
9.shane golden (sixmilebridge)
10.peter duggan (clooney)
11.podge collins (cratloe)
12.gary guilfoyle (feakle)
13.cathal mcinerney (cratloe)
14.conor mcgrath (cratloe)
15.cathal o connell (clonlara)
subs used were ( might be missing a few)
ronan taaffe (tubber)
paul flanagan (ballyea)
jack browne (ballyea)
enda boyce (cratloe)
sean o connor (newmarket)
tony kelly (ballyea)
jamie fitzgibon (crusheen)
davy o halloran (eire og)
aaron cunningham (wolf tones)
cathal malone (ennistymon)
seadna morey (sixmilebridge)
noel purcell (sixmilebridge)
There are probably a few more just cant remember them.
