What did P. H. Pearse pin to the door of the GPO? Why was the war of independence fought. Why are all our young people in the great supine skedaddle to the nearest airport. Why vote yes for the compact?

For what its worth, Stalin defined a nation/nationhood as
“a historically constituted, stable community of people, formed on the basis of a common language, territory, economic life, and psychological make-up manifested in a common culture'
In other words, its something that separates/defines an 'us' from a 'them'

At the moment it seems to be the opposite to Robinhood which robbed the rich to give to the poor.

the right to make a complete and total hames of a country all on your ownio. Ergo we are a nation, and Ahern is a true nationalist, closely followed by cowen..

I thought the state was a republic so he must surely have had the principles of Tone and Davis. But then Tone was opposed to monarchy, popery and all the other unaccountable things that nationalists like. This is probably why cardinal Sean Brady is a nationalist rather that a republican. You can't sack him. The Irish people are now in a very bad place and I can hear the sniggers of the British already.
