A friend of mine came home so tanked about 2 months ago that he took a p1ss in the corner of his bedroom-don't know if yours is a similar problem but there was certainly damp in his corner after that.

You got an ensuite?
Is there a vent in the room?
Are there air vents in the windows?
2 story house? You insulate above the bedroom in the attic I take it? What was there before? Did you block the air vents in the roof space?
Is the mould close to external or internal wall? North facing?
Are the walls dry-lined?
You having lots of steamy sex?

It's a medical condition I'll have you know-when I drink 10 pints and half a bottle of Jack Daniels I don't seem to be able to control my bladder.

Poor insulation or poor ventilation or both. It it's external corners only it's poor insulation. If it's all corners it's poor ventilation.

Drying clothes on rads and all that won't help either.

Had much the same problem in the home place for years, tried all sorts to get rid of it, but couldn't. Painted the room with a damp proof primer about two years ago and not a bother since. Put a vent on the wall a few months later, but i think it was the primer that sorted it.

First you say the mould is on the ceiling, now you say it's on the walls. If the walls are dry-lined and you have mould on them then you have serious ventilation problems. If it's on the ceiling perhaps the attic insulation has been pulled back or non existent in those areas.

Ventilate all sources of water vapour. Showers, drying clothes on rads, dryer etc. Opening a few windows upstairs when you are at work may be the solution. Or install a vent.

Insulation or ventilation. You need to strike a balance at the right times.

Agree with above. Check the windows, they may have small vents - make sure they are open/unblocked. Building regs call for mandatory vents but some builders leave them out (or install a mechanical heat recovery ventilation unit)

Check that the vents in the attic are unblocked - you must have good air circulation in your roof space.

Dry lined walls can sometimes hide a serious dampness problem. If ventilation does not help, get an engineer in.

Sound like you have an ensuite but not in the room affected by mould. I asked about ensuite because it creates lots of moisture.

Damp proof primer paint is good in that it stops mould but in a way it masks a dampness problem.

Theres a spray you can get,its made by HG its available in woodies you just spray it on and wipe off after a few minutes I've used it and its very good would be easier than any other option if your problem is not too severe.

Hiya H. How did you get around the problem of having to ask total strangers to help with the zipper?

Howdy OneLeggedDancer,

I leave the zip down for the most part. Easier that way.

You getting the leg over much yourself?

I manage but those knee tremblers are a b...h. I keep falling over - very undignified having to scramble back up. And in case anybody chimes in that this is irrelevant to the title, at my age dampness can occasionally be a problem. No sign of mould yet, thankfully.
