Limerick 0-18 Dublin 1-12
Any reports on teams and performances?
Full round of championship in Dublin this weekend including today so would be interested in seeing what kind of team Dublin had out.

I wasn't at it lads but a friend was and this was the sheet given out. He said only Stapleton and Dotsy really impressed. Poor game overall and Dublin only had 3 subs.

Agree Sam.
My friend at it said it was Junior B standard in the first half.
Considering Dublin were understrength i suppose the result wasn't too bad.

Limerick Team was
1A.Murphy
2D.Moloney
23B.Geary
4S.O'Neill
5W.McNamara
6S.Hickey
7T.Ryan
8T.O'Brien
9P.O'Brien
10S.Dowling
11N.maher
12S.O'Brien
13S.Tobin
14K.Downes
15M.Carmody
Subs used Murphy for Quaid half Time
R.McCarthy forShane O.Neill
J.Ryan for T.O'Brien
Dodge for P.O'Brien
M.Ryan for Seanie Tobin
Mulcahy for Carmody
Notr 100 per cent if they players they came of for are right but they got a game.
Tobin looks tge best players for us today in what was a very bad game.Downes is over his fitness probs now and had a very good game and scored a few points.Dowling missed a few frees but it was very windy but scored a few and some from play aswell.
Limerick 18 Dublin 1.12.
On another note i'm sad to see Ciaran gone from the Limerick Set up.But his gone for the right reasons and i back him 100 per cent. When we go looking for a new manager in a year or two HE SHOULD BE THE MAN!

The interesting question is what kind of team did Limerick have out?
That's as weak a Dublin team as we could probably field with several players who played for their clubs yesterday along with a couple of fellas who would probably never see a senior team jersey except in a situation like this. I saw Shane Ryan in the stand in Tullamore the first day against Galway and presumed he was gone off the panel.
If Limerick had anything resembling a full team out then it's a terrible result from their point of view.

They had at most 5 or 6 who will start against Tipp

And we had about the same. Sounds like a waste of time.

These matches usually are. Limerick had Geary, McNamara, Hickey, Dowling, Tobin and Downes as the only ones who might start against Tipp. Would be very very doubtful that any of the rest of the team will get a start. Maybe Maloney at corner back but after that id say there is nobody

Richie McCarthy,Graeme Mulcahy,Donal O'Grady and James Ryan all played a part so Limerick were a lot stronger than Dublin.

Why are they starting Dowling in all these challenge matches? Surely he's proven his ability at this stage and is a nailed on starter. He was Na piarsaigh's go to player all year as well. Let's hope he is fresh for Tipp

I meant from the team that started yesterday. The lads brought on didn't exactly kill themselves with effort either so all in all it was a pretty pointless match

I suppose the day that was in it weather wise didn't help either Frankie?
How is Cappamore looking since they did the place up? Haven't being there in donkey's years.

Have they done the place up? I dont think they have though I could be wrong. In saying that it had been a long long time since I was there so maybe I just didnt spot the changes. One thing I miss being in London is the build up to the championship. The last few weeks are usually the best when you have lads in the shop or pub picking the team on a daily basis and saying they heard such a fella is flying in training. Tis a lot easier to keep in touch these days but the odd trip home for matches like yesterday are great for those who are away and miss most of the season. To some, challenges arent worth going to but when you havent seen much hurling all year, for me anything is better than nothing

Looks like you are right there Sam. Heard on the radio this morning that Schutte suffered a serious knee injury in this game.
