Disagree-City have spent the GDP of a small country to try to buy the league and looked like they had done it-by xmas they were hammering all-comers 3 or 4 nil. However, when they built a lead and looked likely to win it, Mancini started playing more defensive teams and an 8 point lead was turned into 8 points behind in the space of 6 weeks. United have fcuked up, especially in the Everton game, but that's more to do with them not really being good enough to be honest although I do think they'll get the point they need tonight.
In saying that, as average and all as United have been, they are still nearly 40 points ahead of Liverpool-as 40 points is such a huge number (teams who finish 40 points behind the champs are oftern relegated)that indicates to me that Liverpool are a very very poor team-very poor.

Great to see the some supposed Liverpool fans creaming all over their keyboards at the prospect of United getting beat, a very very unhealthhy obsession, but very funny all the same.
United to snatch it, 1-0 or 2-1. What will be more interesting for the moment will be the team selections. Seemingly Evans and Nani are carrying knocks (some might say this isn't be a bad thing), also Park is in line for a start, which doesn't surprise as this is the type of game Ferguson would start him in. Will he stick with Rafael? Will he play wellbeck up front and ask Rooney to drop into midfield, or will he play Rooney up front on his own and play 5 midfielders across midfield.

Hooray , you have finally made a prediction before a game, well done jimbo.
But it does mean that we when it is proved wrong tonight you will have a 100% failure rate , I can't remember the last time I got one wrong.

Yes Liverpool are poor, but what has that got to do with tonight's game and this thread, which is after all a Manchester derby, not a north-west derby, or 2 clubs not a million miles away from each other geographically derby.

City 2-2 United
Tevez to score and cause a riot, Aguero with city's other goal.
Rooney and Valencia to score for United.

It's got nothing to do with it Hidalgo-I'm only having a bit of craic with Blanco who is trying to wind up the United lads-he knows its harmless stuff-no need to get knickers twisted.
Liverpool are sh1t though.

Very true although still not even close to the sight of big group of Irish Man United fans I saw in bar in Spain dancing on tables and going absolutely delirious (couple of them actually crying with happiness) watching cl final in 2005 as Milan scored 3rd goal; and then watching the shouting become less quiet and they all coming down off the tables as the Liverpool goals went in in second half. There was a couple of Liverpool fans in group as well - reckon the rest of the week must have been a nightmare for the Man United lads.
Think Rooney could be the man tonight. 1-1 or 2-1 to United with him scoring late goal.

Knickers are fully untwisted.
But this is the kind of thing that usually happens, the unwritten rule that all soccer threads must descend into Utd/Liverpool.
If tonight can't stand on its own 2 feet for what it is, then Sky aren't doing their job.

Not having a pop at you or Hidalgo, Reb. Hence the use of the words 'some' and 'supposed'.

I'm going for a 0-0 draw also. Two nervous teams to cancel each other out

Not at all COT - don't mention it. Was agreeing with you. Plenty of Rebels down here who will proudly be wearing the blood and bandage should Cork reach an AI next September but who will be more interested in "Manyoo's" performance this pm or "the 'Pool" in cup final next week rather than Cork's national league finals.
Same lads who will be hopping curses off likes of Rooney, Young or Gerrard in six weeks time at euros.

So, would it be fair to say that neither you, Cotty, nor Stoolie have posted on your employers time, MM?
and as for

is that you with your Galway hurling hat on, or the only-very-occasional Man U fanatic's hat, -and shirt, - on?

Head.
City 3- United 1
Heart
City 1 - United 3
city in better form and United's arse seems to have gone. Losing to Wigan is forgivenable, but a 4-4 draw at home to Everton when 4-2 up with time almost up is not.
Despite the 6-1 reverse which was a fluke result all other games in the last few years have been very close. United lead this seasons encounters 2 to 1 after winning both other games 3-2. It will be in City's heads that when they were flying earlier in the season United went there in the cup and when the game was there to be won ran City ragged. Hopefully more of the same tonight.

I hope Gary is working the commentary; he's done well so far, to be fair to him, but this would be a real test for him

Im self employed Jimbo, so not using anyones time apart from my own. As for shirt wearing anyone older than 14 looks silly wearing a replica shirt.
