ive gone with 3 thiss week..
webb simpson hunter mahen and im presisting with cameron tringale!
with a lot of the big guns playing this week (rory, tiger, phil and westwood to name a few) its hard to find value amongst the rest.
rory had his first big win here a few years ago and im sure hes well rested at this stage.he should be one to watch for on the nose backers!
jim furyk could be a dar horse here this weekend..
all in all should be a good weekends golf.great field and a great course..

US Open style rough should give an advantage to those more accurate off the tee. That brings Furyk into play. Simpson has been playing OK this year but not reaching last year's heights. He could do with a breakout week here.
I'm still waiting for Trevor Immelman to become relevant again. He's my long shot for the week.

You were adark horse yourself last weekend Faldo, i hope YOU are well rested!!
I don't normally look at the golf threads, i'm in a happier place since i started avoiding one of the regular contributers(hey Dolph), whats your success rate like, are you up their with John Duggan, i like the odd bet on the golf.

its enjoyable anyway if you follow golf.a lot better value for money compared to horses etc!!
i normally look for value too but you wont always get it!

after last weeks win with dufner im lookin forward to this weeks tournament. a tough course with most of the big names playin should make for an exciting week. its a course where if you find the rough its unforgiving so im goin with straight hitters this week.
hunter mahan has turned into one of the tours most consisitent players winnin twice already htis year. he drives it straight and contends most weeks. 22to1 on him.
zach johnson another he finds the fairways. been in ok form of late does not maybe win enough but often in contention.. 35to 1

if rickie fowler wins this week i will cry..shown a little bit of form last two comps but i chickened out off backing him..hes leading on 6 under but for a change i think he might see it out!!
zach could be a good pick imo..

Picked Zach Johnson, Keegan Bradley and Webb Simpson.
Rickie Fowler has started on fire but he flatters to deceiver regularly.
Wont be easy get the pennys from this though - very competitive field!

Grab a seat bb. We don't discriminate in here. We're a friendly bunch who just happen to enjoy the game of golf. But I take it you're in a happier place now. That's great. We're both happy then!
Perhaps fowler is the best player on the tour now without a PGA tour win following duffners win last week? He's a likeable lad and off to a great start here. I should catch the last hour of tv coverage when I get home. Overton playing well again this week.

Thanks GD, in fairness to Wells Fargo I didn't think there would be much demand for stagecoach post etc these days but obviously with the downturn in the outlaw game at least it's probably a lot safer anyway.

fowler has as ye said often gone low in opening rounds but struggled to play 4 good rounds. simpson going well early too.the so called big names starting steady rather then spectacular. anything under par wil be an ok openin round

Well Faldo, what you think after round 2?
Webb Simpson shot a steady 68 after his 65 yesterday to keep up with a super second round of 64 from Watney.
Hard to see Watney going low 2 days in a row so maybe the player who can be steady with two 68's could win this. Steward Cink is appealing at 22-1 currently and has being steady with a 65 & 69 on his card. John Senden is in a bit of form too but his odds of 10-1 are not as appealing.

The big cat misses the cut lads! About time Watney showed some form and nice to see Cink up there. Been a very barren spell for him since he won the open in '09. Rory nicely poised here.

rory had a great round today,he shot a 66.
a fairly steady round from simpson today sees him top of the leaderbord by one shot but there is a very strong field close behind.
i still see rory as the biggest threat,he knows how to win here but its simpsons home course so its game on tomorrow.

It's shaping up nicely lads. I think it will go down to Simpson and our boy Rory. Good to see Fowler hanging in there, seems like a nice young lad and he's bound to land one soon.
Jaysus did ye see mcilroys drive on the 16th? Fcuk me! Even your namesake Faldo was blown away by it.

I'll be shouting on Rory but certainly wouldn't begrudge fowler, seems like a decent lad.
Would love to see about 5 playoff holes!!
