How sad are some of the posters. 'WE, I mean how sad is that talking about a team in another country that they were not born in and would have no physical or emotional attachment to. Supporting a club who are owned by some asian or american buisnessmen, they may aswell be supporting sony v pfizers. supporting players who are paid huge salaries and who couldnt give a damn 10 mins after a game if they lost because thet will still get 100 grand a week. And you have grown men on here??? Fighting like primary school children whose team is the best. You wouldnt know whether to laugh or cry. Well NON repeat NON Soccer posters nows your chance...Discuss

They are not hurting anyone and shur they all know it's only a bit of banter even if it does tend to get over heated once in a while.Soccer is the most widely followed sport throughout the entire world and what soccer clubs would Irish fans follow if not the English clubs, didnt we all grow up reading about it in the sports pages of the Irish newspapers. Why the hell should it upset other people anyway. It's sport not war.

Nearly had smoke coming out my ears figuring out who the thread was really for but would agree with a good bit of it. While absolutely believing in the right of the soccer heads to debate their opinions on any forum they like, I still have an odd feeling of sadness that grown men should so childishly go on about 'we' and 'our' team etc when we know in our hearts that the owners, managers and most players couldnt give a damn about the club or the city it bases itself in but are just there for the millions it makes for them. Also the fact that the British red-top rags churn out such absolute rubbish daily on the antics and non-stories about what footballers do and say [and ride] is enough to turn me off even more.
Each to his own I suppose....

Did you read the title of the thread, read it again. I'm entitled to express my view of grown Men still acting like infants. At least most infants grow up unlike some of the sucker supporters on this site. Men from Cork, Tipp , Galway, Limerick fighting over multinationals from other countries. Behaving like spoilt babies, and if you pull them up on it your told its only a bit of craic. God mr murdoch must love these men children

I did read it, what part of my post made you think i hadn't read it? How do you know if im one of the ''soccer people'' or not? You say you're entitled to express your view (which you are) and then you say the thread is for ''non soccer people'' .So you can have your view but some other posters views you don't want to read. Threads on a message board are for everyone to comment on .

I've been following the English League since I was a kid and I certainly don't feel the need to explain myself to anyone for doing so. Anyone who has a problem with this, or who has trouble understanding it, seriously needs to broaden their horizons.

With regard to the soccer topics on here - Well I voted (multiple times) to have them retained when the 'referendum' was held a few months back. I find however that I post less and less on them. This is mainly due to a few absolute fúckwits (everyone knows who they are) who litter each and everyone of them with their insufferable drivel.

Some of them are just out and out wums, who crave attention, while others appear to be mentally unhinged. There are a few lads like Cityoftribes, Stool Pidgeon, murraymarmalade who do a great job of exposing their bullshít, but while it can be very entertaining to read, I find that recently it's just become boring.

It's a pity because the soccer topics can be great source of enjoyable and humorous discussion. There's nothing wrong with lads disagreeing with each other, having a bit of banter or even insulting each other now and again, but it's just become impossible to have a thread with any sort of serious discussion these days, without one or all of these fools making a hames of the whole thing. Unfortunately it would appear the lunatics have taken over the asylum.

I think the majority of Gaa fans do. It's not like they lose all interest and don't watch another match after their own team are out of the championship.

the probelm firhill is that most of the lads on here who comment on the prem lge, also comment on most GAA topics, start thead on GAA topics and contribute greatly to a long list of topics so now ur dictating to them when or what to post. Get a grip. People are well entitled to comment on anything they want.

i think maybe 1-2 people on here migt be soley soccer people, butthe ret are GAA folk who like soccer, so what?

I dont think anyone makes a committment to supporting a team apart from there own county or refers to a team apart from their own county as "we".Just looking at the link below the attendances at our own domestic lague are shameful compared to other countries with similar populations.

http://european-football-statistics.co.uk/attn.htm

Is it really that unrealistic for who are interested in supporting a soccer team instead of committing to supporting an english team to actually get down and support their local LOI team.We might end up having a reasonable decent domestic league if people done this which would enable Irish payers to play at home instead of playing in the 3rd tier in England which would surely be good for the game in this country.
