I feel he is good enough for the Limerick hurlers. Why is he not on the panel?

The Limerick selectors sent a scout to see him in the twenty one final as far as I know.

relax.i actually think he has great potential but at the moment from what i saw the scout wont be too impressed either.eoin larkin said today in examiner richie doyle and cillian buckley kilkennys new younglads are great hurlers but also fitness fanactics some of our young players could learn from this.dempsey has ability to make it if he wants it bad enough no doubt about it.oh an congrats to na piarsaigh on there win.

But your posts are typical of alot of Limerick people. Want players to be seasoned senior inter county hurlers at 18 years of age and dont allow them the odd off day

Dempsey picked up a hand injury in the city final the previous weekend and was touch and go as to whether he would play in the U21 final Saturday. Under the circumstances I think he played very well.

I think your "roasting" comment is a bit unfair. Doon did 99% of their scoring in the first ten and last 10 minutes of the game. In between Na Piarsaigh had a 10-15 point lead through out.

Whether he is good enough for senior county remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure, it'll be handy having him around for All County League matches when the other four county lads and college lads are all unavailable.

He will be on the Under 21 team and the Intermediate team so he has a shop window. An impressive showing for the Intermediates would put him in the shop window if the selectors decided to draft anyone in after the Tipperary game

on the u21 final some of doons minors darra donovan and pat ryan impressed would expect them to start in munster minor semi final.catal mcnamara also did well centre back big man could be centre back for county u 21s.doon an na piarsaigh have some of the best hurlers in county between 16 and 21 and add patrickswell they are considerably stronger than anyone else in the county.

Any recent examples of lads that didn't train all the year with the seniors and then parachuted in for second/subsequent championship matches?

Leaving aside lads who were returning from injury obviously...

Dempsey is a fine hurler, and his time will come.

Kilkenny brought in Paddy Mullally late one year, maybe 2006.

I wouldnt have any problem with a player being added to a panel as long as nobody is dropped to make way for them. Just add an extra player.

That was Seanie O Brien who burst out and then he passed to Mulcahy who passed to Hannon
