Lads anyone know when RTE and TV3 are announcing what matches are being shown live. There leaving it a bit late considering there are Leinster, Munster, Connacht and Ulster Football and Leinster Hurling matches a week and a half away.

Hopefully the Laois Longfod and Meath wicklow matches are shown live they should be crackers and hopefully they dont start the year with a stand alone match from Ulster.

Heres Sunday weeks fixtures
Leinster SFC first round
Westmeath v Louth, Páirc Tailteann, 3.30pm
Longford v Laois, Glennon Brothers Pearse Park, 3.30pm
Connacht SFC quarter-final
Roscommon v Galway, Dr Hyde Park, 4pm
Munster SFC quarter-final
Limerick v Waterford, Gaelic Grounds, 3.30pm
Ulster SFC preliminary round
Cavan v Donegal, Kingspan Breffni Park, 3.30pm
I would of thought the Westmeath/Louth game would be the pick of them but the opportunity to whine about Donegal again may be too much of a temptation for RTE

Roscommon v Galway is the one they are showing that day.

As a neutral on that day it does look to me that Galway V the Rossies is the pick of the bunch so I would say RTE for once got it spot on this time!

I always wonder why they only have 1 game on TV at the start of the year. Why not change one of the games from 3.30 to 2pm and then RTE could show two games.

The Kerry/Tipp match is bit of a foregone conclusion, dont see the point in showing that live.

in fairness we cant really complain about the hurling coverage at provincial level this year. all the major matches of note being covered including a hurling double header ( a rare thing ) on june 17th!

Meath are playing Wicklow on may 27th same day as RTE are stupidly showing Tipp vs Kerry. There is a fair chance of an upset in the Meath Wicklow match and I would expect it to be a close game.Tipp vs Kerry like the last time they were on TV will be like a challenge match. Its incredibly lazy on RTE's behalf if they are showing it purely because its on in the same ground as the hurling match later.
Its disappointing to see that 2 really interesting games in Leinster Meath Wicklow and Longford Laois are not going to be shown live whil they will show all of Dublins matches (even though they will win their opening match easily)

yeah the wicklow v meath game would be far more appetising than Kerry v tipp. I suspect the decision was taken to show kerry v tipp game cos of the double header arrangement. then again maybe not. sure RTE will have cameras at meath v wicklow game anyway for the sunday game programme later that night so there wouldnt be any additional costs in showing it live???

ah now Badger, its hardly pathetic. the team have the largest fan base in the GAA. Its hardly surprising a TV station will look to show their games ahead of other games.

You can understand it froma commercial point of view and TV3 being a commercial station you cant blame them but I think all the TV companies should be encouraged by the GAA to try and show matches that will more than likely be entertaining/competitive rather than just picking the county with the biggest population base.Dublin are constantly on TV and do we really need to see them dish out an early season hidng when they could show a more competitive game

probably dont really need to see them dish out a hiding to what many feel will be canon fodder for them but its understandable why they are selected all the same
