Supply and demand.
Your only choice in there is pay the high price or go dry, same as buying anything on a train or plane.
Another option of course would be to sneak your own in. Stick it to the man!!

Is it not Illegal to bring your own drink onto a licensed premises or is it just that the owner has a right to stop you doing it?

The fact that it is licensed means that they have a license to sell alcohol and you can consume alcohol on the premises.
The premises has the right to refuse admission and can do so on the basis of you bringing your own booze.
Alternatively they can operate a BYOB policy (as some restaurants do with wine).
Not against the law of the land, just may get you kicked out....

I went to see Peter Kay last year and as I was driving home afterwards asked for a bottle of Sprite. Well they gave me the bottle alright but kept the bottle top. Did they think we were a Guns N Roses crowd or what? Bring your own tops, as flat sprite is as bad as a flat beer.

What's the security like for sneaking drink in lads? Were they checking women's hand bags etc? Up there for Paul Simon in a couple of months, s shnaky nagon hidden away might be the job, lovely for making the pints go that bit further for your €5.50.

Inglis they did'nt seem to be checking bags on Wednesday night, so try your luck, as long as Harry is not looking at this site.

In fairness G'n'R gigs usually don't last long enough for anything to go flat.

I'm going to hedge my bets that Harry is not reading the site. They won't be expecting too much hassle out of the Paul Simon crowd either so that could be in my favour. Might give that a go then, I will still buy a few pints so they'll do alright out of me.
