With the game originally fixed for Cooraclare, now changed to Cusack Park, can Clare cause an upset as Mickey Ned has been playing down Kerry's chances even before the semi final pairings were made, all dual stars fit again

Let the discussions begin.

Dont mind Mickey Ned, them cute hoors are always at that craic. The key is the full-back line and full-forward line. We cant leak goals early or twill over in no time. Cork scored a goal straight from the throw in last year. The two Clearys are as good a scoring threat Ive seen in Clare minor teams in a long while and they'll need to be on top form Wednesday. If we win this one who knows after that. The hurlers have been outstanding over the last 3 years at minor level, why not the footballers too.

With a Galway man as Coach,
tis awhile since an outsider like that was in training a clare underage football team, looks like a good effort is been put in to this squad of players .... .

Who's the coach from Galway Daylo? Say Clare are in with every chance, Kerry haven't been too hot in their last two matches, having said that it has given them time to settle on a team after the Tipp defeat.

Tom Newell is his name, he was involved with Ballyvaughan when they came up from intermediate to senior.

Kerry management say Clare clash the ultimate challenge
15 May, 2012 - 08:50 GAA
The Kerry minor football manager feels his side face the "ultimate challenge" when they take on Clare this Wednesday in the Munster minor football semi final in Ennis.

The Kingdom lost out to Tipperary in their opening game before overcoming Limerick and Waterford in the back-door to set up Wednesday's game in Cusack park.

Mickey Ned O Sullivan is hoping his side are ready for a difficult test :

Clare FM will have live commentary this Wednesday of the Munster football semi final from 7-30.

CLARE MINOR SIDE FOR KERRY CLASH IS NAMED
16 May, 2012 - 09:27 GAA
There's two changes to the Clare Minor Football team set to take on Kerry tonight-from the side that lined out against Waterford.
Eoin Clancy replaces Mark Bohannon at wing back and Kieran Malone replaces Tadhg Lynch at wing Forward.
So the starting 15 are:
Killimer's Fergal Pyne , Sean Garry of Cooraclare and Jack Brown of Kilrush make up the full back line.
Kilrush's Cian Murray is flanked by Corofin's Eoin Clancy and Conor McNelis of Clondegad at half back
In Midfield its Corofin's Jamie Malone and Eoin Hanrahan of Doora Barefield
Ballyea's Niall Deacy is on the half forward line flanked by Miltown's Kieran Malone and Eire Og's Sean Corry.
While Barry Lynch of Lissycasey, and Eoin and Connor Cleary of Milltown make up the full forwards with Corofin's Liam Corbet's in goal
Meanwhile
The Clare minor manager admits that a lack of game time for his side is a concern.
Michael Neylon's comments come ahead of tonight's clash against Kerry in the Munster Minor Championship Semi-Final.
Clare have had only one outing to date, while their opponents this evening have recorded two wins and a draw.
The match has been moved from it's initial planned venue of Cooraclare to the county grounds for what's sure to be a close contest - Michael Neylon says his team are looking forward to the test
The match at Cusack Park tonight throws in at 7:30. We'll have live commentary here on Clare FM.
While in tonight's second Munster Minor Clash -Cork take on All Ireland champions Tipperary at Pairc Ui Chaoimh

Not too surprising to see a change at wing forward and at wing back, but isn't Eoin Clancy very young, u16 I think

Half-time - Clare 2-3 Kerry 0-10

Two goals for Clare are keeping them in the game, but they are having great difficulty in linking the half-back line with the forward unit. Kerry running at the Clare defence, almost scored a goal before the interval.

A change of tactics required by Clare for the second-half - commentary team saying that whenever the Clare forward line do get the ball they pose a danger, but getting the ball into them is the problem...

Cracking full forward line alright, but with neylon hard to know what change of tactics he'll pull out!

Final Score: Clare 3-4 Kerry 0-17.

Clare were four points down with a few minutes to go when Conor Cleary goaled from a free to put just a point in it. However, Kerry got the final three scores to book their place in the final, and seemed the better team after a bright start by Clare. Scoring 1-1 in the second-half was never going to be enough to beat Kerry.

Hopefully better fortunes for the other county sides in the weeks and months ahead...

Michael Neylon an honest man and has put alot into it over the past two years, but can be away with the fairys at times when it comes to tactics

i agree
but totally out of there depth on the line

blanket defence
half tackling missing tackles and kerry lads releasing the ball to team mates
in score in positions

beats me, this was happening all the time when clare had not got the ball...............
for the full 60 minutes

I don't know how many times a Kerry lad would have the ball on one wing being closed down by 3 or 4 players only to look up and switch play to unmarked team mate. Happened so many times and cost us alot of scores. Tis all well and grand having a blanket defence, but if players are just closing down opposition like headless chickens they are going to leave players unmarked and that's what happened tonight

ah im not so sure. i firmly believe the players arent there. the 2 kerry corner forwards were completely unplayable. having said that they got great ball kicked in which was the result of a distinctly average clare half forward line that were slow! Niall deasy was not at the races at all and is way too slow to play at center forward. with the exception of the clearys malone from corofin and possibly o leary when he came on we had no vision at all! Tactics were poor alright! We wont challenge in football for a while yet!

i went in last night hopeful that clare might put it up to kerry and maybe win.i came away deflated.is there no coaching with these young guys?.the tactics were nothing short of a joke.i felt sorry for the the 2 subs that came on in the 2nd half in the forwards.they were 2 useful players but had no direction from the sideline as to what to do.one of the clearys(2 very good players)was taking a free or 45 and the 2 of them standing inside with no movement. the kicker had no one to kick it to,ball intercepted, result kerry point.the players are in clare.all they need is direction.surely theres someone apart from the current people available to take them next year?donie buckley?aidan moloney?dermot coughlan?colm collins?..all they need is coaching.its not rocket science.

Well i can guarantee you that if Colm Collins was over that team you will get the same blanmket defence rubbish tactics that Neylon employed last night. As for Horse i dont know why he is touted as a great coach. His record with the clubs he has been involved with has been abysmal with it continuing this year with Kilrush's poor performance so far.
It would be great to get Buckley back involved in the county and Coughlan seems like a god enthusiastic coach too.
