Apparently it's about bonuses or such like. In this day and age maybe bonuses can't be paid and unions are crazy looking for them but the thing is that there always seems to be enough to pay the executives their bonus but no such luck for the foot-soldiers.
Wait until Noonan get his way and the banks resume paying their financial wizards a big bonus again.

The staff are owed money and the company refuse to pay. The Company say they can't afford to pay the bonus but the Company have being making a profit every year. The money owed to the staff is part of there wages and is contracted to them every X-Mas.The Company owned by CRH have hugh profits each year and have factories and companies bought all over the world. They are just riding the fact that we are in a recession.

Spot on Mackey. Both sides agreed to bring the case to the labour court for a recommendation. When the labour court found
in favour of the workers management decided to ignore it.If the case had gone the other way what do you think would have happened???This is a very important case for every factory worker in the country and people should show their support when driving past by beeping their horn or by having a collection for these people as we are doing in my own factory...

I can see this being resolved sooner rather than later as the employers will want to avoid another "Vita Cortex"-esque scenario

It's about a Christmas bonus alright, and supposedly they were told they could have the bonus if they took a 6% pay cut or something along those lines. Ridiculous, a contract is a contract. You can't just renege at the drop of a hat. If everybody did that, anarchy would ensue.
